Operational Check of Fuel Temperature Indications

TASK 28-42-00-710-802-A
Operational Check of Fuel Temperature Indications

WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

Subtask 28-42-00-941-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the safety barriers in position.
Subtask 28-42-00-860-069-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energise the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001), then:
  • On the ECAM control panel (CP), push the FUEL pushbutton switch (P/BSW).
  • Make sure that the FUEL page shows on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU).
   (3) Make sure that each tank contains a minimum of 500 kg (1102 lb). If necessary, refuel the wing tanks (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003) or transfer fuel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
  • Make sure the fuel is in static condition before the test.
4. Procedure

Subtask 28-42-00-710-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Do this test:
   (1) Make sure that the refuel/defuel panel door is closed.
   (2) Make sure that the refuel BUS BAR is not powered.
ACTION
RESULT
1. On the ECAM FUEL SD PAGE:
  • make sure that the temperatures are displayed for each wing.

2. On the ECAM FUEL SD PAGE:
  • record the temperature values for each wing tank.

3. On Panel 48VU:
  • pull circuit breaker 1QT for FQIC channel 1 and wait 30 seconds.
On the ECAM FUEL SD PAGE record the temperatures for each wing tank.
4. On panel 48VU:
  • reset circuit breaker 1QT for FQIC channel 1 and wait 30 seconds.
On ECAM FUEL SD PAGE record the temperature values for each wing tank.
5. On panel 121VU:
  • pull circuit breaker 2QT for FQIC channel 2 and wait 30 seconds.
On the ECAM FUEL SD PAGE record the temperature values for each wing tank.
6. On panel 121VU:
  • reset circuit breaker 2QT for FQIC channel 2 and wait 30 seconds.
On ECAM FUEL SD PAGE record the temperature values for each wing tank.

NOTE: If the displayed temperatures on the ECAM FUEL SD PAGE change by 5deg or more then:

  • the related wings temperature indication and high/low temperature cautions are seen as unserviceable. If unserviceable check MMEL.

NOTE: The results of the above tests should be provided to Airbus for data analysis and should include the aircraft MSN, OAT, locations and FQIC S/N.
