NOTE: This TASK contains Deactivation procedures to comply with the MMEL dispatch conditions.
Dispatch condition one - Tank is serviced with a known quantity

A. Safety Precautions
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
Subtask 28-40-00-010-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 28-40-00-860-065-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001). (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) If the applicable ACT is to be refueled with a known quantity of fuel, continue as follows:
(a) Use external power to energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) If the applicable ACT is to stay empty after each refuel, continue as follows:
(a) Move the fuel from the applicable ACT into the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
4. Procedure(1) If the applicable ACT is to be refueled with a known quantity of fuel, continue as follows:
(a) Use external power to energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) If the applicable ACT is to stay empty after each refuel, continue as follows:
(a) Move the fuel from the applicable ACT into the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
NOTE: The applicable ACT will contain a small quantity of unusable fuel after:
(b) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005). - the contents have been used in flight
- the contents have been moved to the center tank when the aircraft is on the ground.
Subtask 28-40-00-040-081-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Fuel Configuration
(a) Refuel the applicable ACT to the necessary quantity (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004).
(b) On panel 801VU, lift the guard and put the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVE switch in the SHUT position.
(c) Refuel the other fuel tanks as required (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004).
(d) On panel 801VU:
1 Put the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVE switch in the NORM position and lower the guard.
2 Put the FQI SELECT CTR/ACT switch to the applicable ACT position:
(2) If the applicable ACT is to be refueled with the fuel quantity monitored on the gage on the tanker/pump unit:
(a) On the refuel/defuel control panel 801VU:
(e) Refuel the other fuel tanks to the necessary quantity (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004).
(f) When the fuel tank quantities are correct stop the pump on the fuel tanker/pump unit.
(g) On the refuel/defuel control panel 800VU put the MODE SELECT switch to the OFF and guarded position.
(h) On the refuel/defuel control panel 800VU and 801VU:
(3) If the applicable ACT is to stay empty after each refuel, continue as follows:
(a) On panel 801VU, lift the guard and put the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVE switch in the SHUT position.
(b) Refuel the other fuel tanks to the necessary quantity (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004).
(c) Repeat the procedure to drain the remaining fuel from the applicable ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005). This is to make sure that the applicable ACT stays empty after refuel.
5. Close-upNOTE: There are 2 procedures to refuel the applicable ACT with a known quantity of fuel.
Procedure 1 is used when the fuel quantity is monitored on the refuel panel FQI.
Procedure 2 is used when the fuel quantity is monitored on the gage on the tanker/ pump unit.
(1) If the applicable ACT is to be refueled with the fuel quantity monitored on the refuel panel FQI: Procedure 1 is used when the fuel quantity is monitored on the refuel panel FQI.
Procedure 2 is used when the fuel quantity is monitored on the gage on the tanker/ pump unit.
(a) Refuel the applicable ACT to the necessary quantity (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004).
(b) On panel 801VU, lift the guard and put the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVE switch in the SHUT position.
(c) Refuel the other fuel tanks as required (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004).
(d) On panel 801VU:
1 Put the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVE switch in the NORM position and lower the guard.
2 Put the FQI SELECT CTR/ACT switch to the applicable ACT position:
- use the FQI to note the fuel quantity in the applicable ACT
- compare the fuel quantity with the quantity refueled in paragraph 4.A.(1)(a)
- make sure that the fuel quantity has not changed.
(2) If the applicable ACT is to be refueled with the fuel quantity monitored on the gage on the tanker/pump unit:
(a) On the refuel/defuel control panel 801VU:
- put the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVES switch(es) to the OPEN position
- put all other REFUEL VALVES switches to the SHUT position.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET THE REFUEL PRESSURE BE MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM PRESSURE OF 50 PSI (3.45 BARS). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(c) Monitor the quantity of fuel supplied on the fuel gage on the tanker/pump unit. NOTE: Refer to the fuel table for the maximum capacity of each fuel tank and for the total fuel capacity (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-007).
(d) When the applicable ACT has the correct fuel quantity, put the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVES switch(es) to the SHUT position. (e) Refuel the other fuel tanks to the necessary quantity (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004).
(f) When the fuel tank quantities are correct stop the pump on the fuel tanker/pump unit.
(g) On the refuel/defuel control panel 800VU put the MODE SELECT switch to the OFF and guarded position.
(h) On the refuel/defuel control panel 800VU and 801VU:
- put the REFUEL VALVES switch(es) to the NORM and guarded position.
(3) If the applicable ACT is to stay empty after each refuel, continue as follows:
(a) On panel 801VU, lift the guard and put the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVE switch in the SHUT position.
(b) Refuel the other fuel tanks to the necessary quantity (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004).
(c) Repeat the procedure to drain the remaining fuel from the applicable ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005). This is to make sure that the applicable ACT stays empty after refuel.
NOTE: The applicable ACT must not contain fuel. It must stay empty after the other tanks have been refueled.
Subtask 28-40-00-860-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) If the applicable ACT is to be refueled with a known quantity of fuel, continue as follows:
(a) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell the flight crew that the applicable ACT fuel quantity indication on the ECAM is unserviceable.
(c) Make a note in the aircraft technical log:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell the flight crew that the applicable ACT fuel quantity indication on the ECAM is unserviceable.
(b) Make a note in the aircraft technical log:
Subtask 28-40-00-410-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If the applicable ACT is to be refueled with a known quantity of fuel, continue as follows:
(a) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell the flight crew that the applicable ACT fuel quantity indication on the ECAM is unserviceable.
(c) Make a note in the aircraft technical log:
- of the fuel quantity in the applicable ACT
- that the applicable ACT fuel quantity indication on the ECAM is unserviceable.
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell the flight crew that the applicable ACT fuel quantity indication on the ECAM is unserviceable.
(b) Make a note in the aircraft technical log:
- that the applicable ACT is empty of fuel
- that the applicable ACT fuel quantity indication on the ECAM is unserviceable.
B. Close Access
(1) If the applicable ACT is to be refueled with a known quantity of fuel, continue as follows:
(a) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(b) On panel 801VU:
(2) If the applicable ACT is to stay empty after each refuel, continue as follows:
(a) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(b) On panel 801VU:
Subtask 28-40-00-942-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If the applicable ACT is to be refueled with a known quantity of fuel, continue as follows:
(a) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(b) On panel 801VU:
- make sure that the FQI SELECT CTR/ACT switch is in the CTR+ACT position
- make sure that the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVE switch is in the NORM position and the guard is lowered.
(2) If the applicable ACT is to stay empty after each refuel, continue as follows:
(a) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(b) On panel 801VU:
- make sure that the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVE switch is in the SHUT position
- attach a WARNING NOTICE(S) to the applicable ACT REFUEL VALVE switch. This is to tell personnel not to use the switch in the NORM or OPEN positions.
C. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
