A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft is refueled for the subsequent flight.
   (2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-40-00-040-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Make sure that the Fuel Tank Contains the Correct Quantity of Fuel (and not contamination such as unwanted free water).
   (1) Check for unwanted free water. (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001)
   (2) To make sure that the applicable fuel tank contains the correct quantity of fuel, do one of these subsequent steps:
  • Read the FUEL QTY display on the Multi-Tank Indicator (MTI) 6QT, on the Refuel/Defuel Control Panel 800VU,

    or,

  • Read the applicable MLIs (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-007).

Subtask 28-40-00-040-056-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Make sure that the Fuel Tank Contains the Correct Quantity of Fuel (and not contamination such as unwanted free water).
   (1) Check for unwanted free water. (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001)
   (2) To make sure that the applicable fuel tank contains the correct quantity of fuel, do one of these subsequent steps:
  • Read the FUEL QTY display on the Multi-Tank Indicator (MTI) 6QT, on the Refuel/Defuel Control Panel 800VU,

    or,

  • Read the applicable MLIs (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-007) (if the inner tank contains more than 2500 liters of fuel).

Subtask 28-40-00-040-056-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Make sure that the Fuel Tank Contains the Correct Quantity of Fuel (and not contamination such as unwanted free water).
   (1) Check for unwanted free water. (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001)
   (2) To make sure that the applicable fuel tank contains the correct quantity of fuel, do one of these subsequent steps:
  • Read the FUEL QTY display on the Multi-Tank Indicator (MTI) 6QT, on the Refuel/Defuel Control Panel 800VU,

    or,

  • Read the applicable MLIs (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-007) (if the wing tank contains between 2400 and 7000 liters of fuel).

5. Close-up
Subtask 28-40-00-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Configuration
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell the flight crew that:
  • the applicable wing tank inner-cell ECAM fuel quantity indication is unserviceable.
   (3) Write an applicable entry in the aircraft technical log.
Subtask 28-40-00-860-059-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Configuration
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell the flight crew that:
  • the applicable wing tank ECAM fuel quantity indication is unserviceable.
   (3) Write an applicable entry in the aircraft technical log.
Subtask 28-40-00-942-059-A
B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIERS.
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
