A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
Subtask 28-40-00-010-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Get Access
   (1) Open the RH MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating-cylinder.
   (3) Open the access door 192MB.
NOTE: If operating in battery power, do not keep the door open longer than necessary because the battery can discharge.
   (4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) below the actuator 5QE of the fuel crossfeed valve 10QM.

A. Crossfeed Valve Indication - Valve Operating Procedure
   (1) In the test that follows, on each operation of the crossfeed valve:
  • listen to the actuator and make sure it stops each time the crossfeed valve moves to the end of its travel
  • make sure that the see/feel indicator operates smoothly, from the valve open (valve closed) position to the valve closed (valve open) position.
   (2) Do this test:
ACTION
RESULT
1.Open tag and safety C/B 1QE.

2.On the fuel control panel 40VU:
  • push (in) the X FEED pushbutton switch (P/BSW).
On the panel 40VU:
  • the X FEED P/BSW ON light comes on
  • when the valve is fully open, the X FEED P/BSW OPEN light comes on.
On the valve actuator, when the valve is fully open:
  • the see/feel indicator marks are accurately aligned in the valve open position.
3.On the fuel control panel 40VU:
  • release (out) the X FEED P/BSW.
On the panel 40VU:
  • the X FEED P/BSW ON light goes off
  • when the valve is fully closed, the X FEED P/BSW OPEN light goes off.
On the valve actuator, when the valve is fully closed:
  • the see/feel indicator marks are at 90 degrees to one another in the valve closed position.
4.Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close C/B 1QE.

5.Open, safety and tag C/B 2QE.

6.On the fuel control panel 40VU:
  • push (in) the X FEED P/BSW.
On the panel 40VU:
  • the X FEED P/BSW ON light comes on.
NOTE: The X FEED P/BSW OPEN light will not come on when cicuit breaker 2QE is open.
On the valve actuator, when the valve is fully open:
  • the see/feel indicator marks are accurately aligned in the valve open position.
7.On the fuel control panel 40VU:
  • release (out) the X FEED P/BSW.
On the panel 40VU:
  • the X FEED P/BSW ON light goes off.
On the valve actuator, when the valve is fully closed:
  • the see/feel indicator marks are at 90 degrees to one another in the valve closed position.
8.Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close C/B 2QE.

5. Close-up
