A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the FUEL overhead panel 40VU, make sure that all L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
   (4) On the APU section of the overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is in the off position (the ON legend is off).

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the APU compartment.
   (2) Open the APU access door 315AL.
   (3) Remove the blanking plug (2) from the vent and drain valve (1).
   (4) Install the 98A28007570000 ADAPTER - VENT AND DRAIN VALVE, APU (3) on the vent and drain valve (1).
   (5) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the APU vent and drain valve to collect the unwanted fuel.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-29-00-710-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Check of the APU LP Fuel Valve for evidence of internal Leakage with the left Wing Tank Pump on
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the ECAM control panel:
  • push the FUEL pushbutton switch.
On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • the FUEL page comes into view.
  • the APU LP fuel valve position symbol is in the horizontal position.
2.On the FUEL overhead panel 40VU:
  • push the the L TK PUMPS 1 pushbutton switch.
On the FUEL overhead panel 40VU:
  • the OFF legend in the L TK PUMPS 1 pushbutton switch goes off,
  • the FAULT legend in the L TK PUMPS 1 pushbutton switch stays off.
NOTE: If the FAULT legend in the L TK PUMPS 1 pushbutton switch comes on, then the pump does not operate.

At the APU vent and drain valve:
  • make sure that no fuel comes out of the vent and drain valve.
NOTE: No flow of fuel is permitted. That shows that the APU fuel LP valve has no internal leakage. If fuel comes out of the vent and drain valve replace the APU fuel LP valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-29-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-29-41-400-001).
3.On the FUEL overhead panel 40VU:
  • release the the L TK PUMPS 1 pushbutton switch.
On the FUEL overhead panel 40VU:
  • the OFF legend in the L TK PUMPS 1 pushbutton switch comes on.
