A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002)
(2) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is in the off position (the ON and FAULT legends are off).

C. Get Access
(1) Open the main landing-gear doors Z734,Z744 (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001) .
(2) Put the STEPLADDER 2.0 M (6.6 FT) in position at the main landing-gear bay.

(2) Put the STEPLADDER 2.0 M (6.6 FT) in position at the main landing-gear bay.
Subtask 28-29-00-040-050-A
A. Deactivation of the APU Fuel LP-Valve (Actuator P/N B27000)
(1) In the Main Landing Gear (MLG) bay, check the position of the APU fuel LP-valve (14QM) at the visual position indicator of the APU fuel LP-valve-actuator (3QF).
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors 3QF-A and 3QF-B (2) from the actuator (1).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Fold the electrical connectors/cables (2) back over the cable clamps and attach them with a TIE WRAP to a stowage position.
(3) If the visual position indicator shows a red bar, the APU fuel LP valve is in the open position, then you must do this procedure:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors 3QF-A and 3QF-B (2) from the actuator (1).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Fold the electrical connectors/cables (2) back over the cable clamps and attach them with a TIE WRAP to a stowage position.
(d) Hold the APU fuel LP-valve actuator (1) in position and remove the nuts (3), the washers (4) and the bonding strap (5).
(e) Disconnect the drive shaft of the actuator from the drive shaft of the valve and remove the actuator (1).
(f) Turn the drive shaft of the valve (7) to the horizontal position (closed position).
(g) Viewed on the actuator mounting face, turn the drive shaft of the actuator in counterclockwise direction until the visual position indicator shows a green bar (closed position).
(h) Make sure that you do not damage the drive shaft of the actuator when you turn it.
(j) Engage the drive shaft of the actuator into the drive shaft of the valve (7) (closed position).
(k) Make sure that the washers (4), the nuts (3) and the bonding strap (5) are in a good condition.
(l) Connect the bonding strap (5) to the actuator (1), install the washers (4) and the nuts (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(m) Torque the nuts (3) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
.
(4) In the cockpit, on the panel 25VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell people not to operate the APU (APU fuel LP-valve is locked in closed position).
(5) Make an entry in the aircraft-logbook, that the APU fuel LP-valve (14QM) is locked in closed position and the APU must not operate.
(6) Cockpit effects:
The APU LP Valve symbol shows the transit position on the ECAM FUEL page when the valve is deactivated.
Subtask 28-29-00-040-051-A (1) In the Main Landing Gear (MLG) bay, check the position of the APU fuel LP-valve (14QM) at the visual position indicator of the APU fuel LP-valve-actuator (3QF).
NOTE: Use a FLASHLIGHT and a MIRROR - INSPECTION to see the visual position indicator.
(2) If the visual position indicator shows a green bar, the APU fuel LP-valve is in the closed position, then you must do this procedure: (a) Disconnect the electrical connectors 3QF-A and 3QF-B (2) from the actuator (1).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Fold the electrical connectors/cables (2) back over the cable clamps and attach them with a TIE WRAP to a stowage position.
(3) If the visual position indicator shows a red bar, the APU fuel LP valve is in the open position, then you must do this procedure:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors 3QF-A and 3QF-B (2) from the actuator (1).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Fold the electrical connectors/cables (2) back over the cable clamps and attach them with a TIE WRAP to a stowage position.
(d) Hold the APU fuel LP-valve actuator (1) in position and remove the nuts (3), the washers (4) and the bonding strap (5).
(e) Disconnect the drive shaft of the actuator from the drive shaft of the valve and remove the actuator (1).
(f) Turn the drive shaft of the valve (7) to the horizontal position (closed position).
(g) Viewed on the actuator mounting face, turn the drive shaft of the actuator in counterclockwise direction until the visual position indicator shows a green bar (closed position).
(h) Make sure that you do not damage the drive shaft of the actuator when you turn it.
NOTE: Do not apply more torque than 0.12 m.daN (10.62 lbf.in) to turn the drive shaft of the actuator.
NOTE: Do not turn the drive shaft of the actuator in clockwise direction.
NOTE: Install a new actuator:
(i) Put the actuator (1) in position on the studs (9). - if you can not turn the drive shaft of the actuator within the torque limit of 0.12 m.daN (10.62 lbf.in)
- if you can turn the drive shaft of the actuator freely without a torque
- if the drive shaft of the actuator is damaged and does not engage correctly into the drive shaft of the valve.
(j) Engage the drive shaft of the actuator into the drive shaft of the valve (7) (closed position).
(k) Make sure that the washers (4), the nuts (3) and the bonding strap (5) are in a good condition.
(l) Connect the bonding strap (5) to the actuator (1), install the washers (4) and the nuts (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(m) Torque the nuts (3) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
. (4) In the cockpit, on the panel 25VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell people not to operate the APU (APU fuel LP-valve is locked in closed position).
(5) Make an entry in the aircraft-logbook, that the APU fuel LP-valve (14QM) is locked in closed position and the APU must not operate.
(6) Cockpit effects:
The APU LP Valve symbol shows the transit position on the ECAM FUEL page when the valve is deactivated.
B. Deactivation of the APU Fuel LP-Valve (with Actuator P/N A08000)
(1) In the Main Landing Gear (MLG) bay, check the position of the APU fuel LP-valve (14QM) at the visual position indicator of the APU fuel LP-valve-actuator (3QF).
(2) If the visual position indicator is in the SHUT position, then you must do this procedure:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors 3QF-A and 3QF-B (4) from the actuator (1).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Fold the electrical connectors/cables (4) back over the cable clamps and attach the cables (4) with a TIE WRAP (8) to a stowage position.
(3) If the visual position indicator is in the OPEN position, then you must do this procedure:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors 3QF-A and 3QF-B (4) from the actuator (1).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Fold the electrical connectors/cables (4) back over the cable clamps and attach the cables (4) with a TIE WRAP (8) to a stowage position.
(d) If necessary, remove the screw (3) and disconnect the bonding strap (2).
(e) Hold the APU fuel LP-valve actuator (1) in position and and loosen the V-Band clamp (6).
(f) Disconnect and remove the actuator (1) from the valve adapter (7).
(g) Turn the drive shaft of the valve to the horizontal position (closed position).
(h) Turn the drive shaft of the actuator in counterclockwise direction until the visual position indicator is in the SHUT position.
(i) Make sure that you do not damage the drive shaft of the actuator when you turn it.
(k) Engage the drive shaft of the actuator into the drive shaft of the valve (closed position).
(l) Install the V-Band clamp (6) on the actuator (1) and the valve adapter (7).
(m) TORQUE the nuts of the V-Band clamp (6) to between 0.143 and 0.117 m.daN (12.65 and 10.35 lbf.in )
.
(n) If removed, connect the bonding strap (2) to the actuator (1) and install the screw (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(4) Lock the APU fuel LP-valve (14QM) in the closed position with the B12990 LOCKING COVER:
(b) Engage the LOCKING COVER (5) into the slot of the valve drive shaft (closed position).
(c) Install the V-Band clamp (6) on the LOCKING COVER (5) and the valve adapter (7).
(d) TORQUE the nuts of the V-Band clamp (6) to between 0.143 and 0.117 m.daN (12.65 and 10.35 lbf.in )
.
(e) Connect the bonding strap (2) to the LOCKING COVER (5) and install the screw (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(f) TORQUE the screw (3) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
.
(g) Put the actuator (1) in a BAG - POLYTHENE and keep it in a safe location.
(5) In the cockpit, on the panel 25VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell people not to operate the APU (APU fuel LP-valve is locked in closed position).
(6) Make an entry in the aircraft-logbook that the APU fuel LP-valve (14QM) is locked in closed position and the APU must not operate.
(7) Cockpit effects:
The APU LP Valve symbol shows the transit position on the ECAM FUEL page when the valve is deactivated.
5. Close-up(1) In the Main Landing Gear (MLG) bay, check the position of the APU fuel LP-valve (14QM) at the visual position indicator of the APU fuel LP-valve-actuator (3QF).
(2) If the visual position indicator is in the SHUT position, then you must do this procedure:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors 3QF-A and 3QF-B (4) from the actuator (1).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Fold the electrical connectors/cables (4) back over the cable clamps and attach the cables (4) with a TIE WRAP (8) to a stowage position.
(3) If the visual position indicator is in the OPEN position, then you must do this procedure:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors 3QF-A and 3QF-B (4) from the actuator (1).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Fold the electrical connectors/cables (4) back over the cable clamps and attach the cables (4) with a TIE WRAP (8) to a stowage position.
(d) If necessary, remove the screw (3) and disconnect the bonding strap (2).
(e) Hold the APU fuel LP-valve actuator (1) in position and and loosen the V-Band clamp (6).
(f) Disconnect and remove the actuator (1) from the valve adapter (7).
(g) Turn the drive shaft of the valve to the horizontal position (closed position).
(h) Turn the drive shaft of the actuator in counterclockwise direction until the visual position indicator is in the SHUT position.
(i) Make sure that you do not damage the drive shaft of the actuator when you turn it.
NOTE: Do not apply more torque than 0.12 m.daN (10.62 lbf.in) to turn the drive shaft of the actuator.
NOTE: Do not turn the drive shaft of the actuator in clockwise direction.
NOTE: Lock the valve with the applicable LOCKING COVER (Ref. Para. (4)):
(j) Put the actuator (1) in position on the valve adapter (7). - if you can not turn the drive shaft of the actuator within the torque limit of 0.12 m.daN (10.62 lbf.in)
- if you can turn the drive shaft of the actuator freely without a torque
- if the drive shaft of the actuator is damaged and does not engage correctly into the drive shaft of the valve.
(k) Engage the drive shaft of the actuator into the drive shaft of the valve (closed position).
(l) Install the V-Band clamp (6) on the actuator (1) and the valve adapter (7).
(m) TORQUE the nuts of the V-Band clamp (6) to between 0.143 and 0.117 m.daN (12.65 and 10.35 lbf.in )
. (n) If removed, connect the bonding strap (2) to the actuator (1) and install the screw (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(4) Lock the APU fuel LP-valve (14QM) in the closed position with the B12990 LOCKING COVER:
NOTE: This is an alternative procedure to lock the APU fuel LP-valve if the actuator (3QF) is removed.
NOTE: You must lock the APU fuel LP-valve in the closed position with the LOCKING COVER:
(a) Put the LOCKING COVER (5) in position on the valve adapter (7). - if you can not turn the drive shaft of the actuator counterclockwise within the torque limit of 0.12 m.daN (10.62 lbf.in)
- if you can turn the drive shaft of the actuator freely without a torque
- if the drive shaft of the actuator is damaged and does not engage into the drive shaft of the valve.
(b) Engage the LOCKING COVER (5) into the slot of the valve drive shaft (closed position).
(c) Install the V-Band clamp (6) on the LOCKING COVER (5) and the valve adapter (7).
(d) TORQUE the nuts of the V-Band clamp (6) to between 0.143 and 0.117 m.daN (12.65 and 10.35 lbf.in )
. (e) Connect the bonding strap (2) to the LOCKING COVER (5) and install the screw (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(f) TORQUE the screw (3) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
. (g) Put the actuator (1) in a BAG - POLYTHENE and keep it in a safe location.
(5) In the cockpit, on the panel 25VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell people not to operate the APU (APU fuel LP-valve is locked in closed position).
