Installation of the FWD ACT Vent Check-Valve

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(4) On the FUEL section of panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position:
(7) Make sure that the center fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(8) Make sure that the right MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(9) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the right MLG door.
(10) Make sure that access cover 147AZ is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
(11) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the FWD ACT vent-check-valve (11).
Subtask 28-28-63-865-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).

- On ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD installed on overhead panel 20VU to tell persons not to operate the fire extinguishing system
- On the Additional Center Tank (ACT) section of control panel 28VU to tell persons not to operate the fuel system.
(7) Make sure that the center fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(8) Make sure that the right MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(9) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the right MLG door.
(10) Make sure that access cover 147AZ is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
(11) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the FWD ACT vent-check-valve (11).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Installation of the FWD ACT Vent-Check-Valve
(1) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the disconnected line ends.
(2) Install the nut (7) and the retaining ring (8) on the pipe assembly (6).
(3) Install a new AIPC 28-28-85-44-090 O-RING (10).
(4) Install the coupling (9) on the FWD ACT vent-check-valve (11) and tighten it.
(5) Install a new AIPC 28-28-85-44-090 O-RING (2).
(6) Put the FWD ACT vent-check-valve (11) in position between the machined tee (1) and the pipe assembly (6).
(7) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-- Soft Film System (Material No.12AGC2) to the bolts (5) and (12).
(8) Install the bonding lead (4), the bolt (5) and the nut (3).
(9) TORQUE the nut (3) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(10) Install the bolts (12) and the nuts (13).
(11) TORQUE the nuts (13) to between 3.22 and 2.69 m.daN (23.75 and 19.84 lbf.ft )

(12) Install the coupling (9) on the nut (7) and tighten it.
(13) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
Subtask 28-28-63-865-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the disconnected line ends.

(7) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-- Soft Film System (Material No.12AGC2) to the bolts (5) and (12).
(8) Install the bonding lead (4), the bolt (5) and the nut (3).
(9) TORQUE the nut (3) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(1) Make sure that there are no unwanted objects and materials, tools or other equipment in the ACT.
(2) Install access cover 147AZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-400-001).

(1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits

(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Remove the container.
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
