Subtask 28-28-51-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(4) On the FUEL section of panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position:
(7) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the main gear doors.
(8) Make sure that left Main Landing Gear (MLG) door 734 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(9) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at left MLG door 734.
(10) Make sure that the protective cover of the ACT-equipment support door is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-003).
Subtask 28-28-51-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(4) On the FUEL section of panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position:
- On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, to tell persons not to operate the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch
- On the FUEL section of panel 40VU, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system,
- On the ENG/APU FIRE panel located on overhead panel 20VU, to tell persons not to operate the fire extinguishing system.
- On Additional Center Tank (ACT) control panel 28VU, to tell persons not to operate the ACT transfer system.
(7) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the main gear doors.
(8) Make sure that left Main Landing Gear (MLG) door 734 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(9) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at left MLG door 734.
(10) Make sure that the protective cover of the ACT-equipment support door is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-003).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Installation of the Pump Element
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(4) Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to the new AIPC 28-28-03-01-140 O-RING (1) and AIPC 28-28-03-01-160 O-RING (2) and AIPC 28-28-03-01-150 O-RING (3).
(5) Install the three new O-rings (1), (2) and (3) on the pump.
(6) Put the pump (7) in position and turn the limit stop (8) to hold the pump (7).
(7) Install the mounting bars (5) and the bolts (6).
(8) Safety the bolts (6) with lockwire14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(10) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(11) Connect the electrical connector (4).
Subtask 28-28-51-420-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

(5) Install the three new O-rings (1), (2) and (3) on the pump.
(6) Put the pump (7) in position and turn the limit stop (8) to hold the pump (7).
(7) Install the mounting bars (5) and the bolts (6).
(8) Safety the bolts (6) with lockwire
(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(10) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(11) Connect the electrical connector (4).
A. Installation of the Pump Element
(1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(5) Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to the new AIPC 28-28-83-01-150 O-RING (11), AIPC 28-28-83-01-170 O-RING (12) and AIPC 28-28-83-01-160 O-RING (13).
(6) Install three new O-rings (11), (12) and (13) on the ACT fuel-transfer pump (10).
(7) Put the ACT fuel-transfer pump (10) in position and turn the limit stop (14) to hold the ACT fuel-transfer pump (10).
(8) Install the spacers (6), mounting bars (9), washers (7) and bolts (8).
(9) Tighten the bolts (8).

(11) Prepare the equipment for electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(12) Install the bonding strap (3) on the ACT fuel-transfer pump (10) with the washer (2), the bolt (1) and the nut (4).
(13) Tighten the nut (4).
(14) Apply surface protection on the nut (4), bolt (1), washer (2) and bonding strap (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(16) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 28-28-51-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(5) Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to the new AIPC 28-28-83-01-150 O-RING (11), AIPC 28-28-83-01-170 O-RING (12) and AIPC 28-28-83-01-160 O-RING (13).
(6) Install three new O-rings (11), (12) and (13) on the ACT fuel-transfer pump (10).
(7) Put the ACT fuel-transfer pump (10) in position and turn the limit stop (14) to hold the ACT fuel-transfer pump (10).
(8) Install the spacers (6), mounting bars (9), washers (7) and bolts (8).
(9) Tighten the bolts (8).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(10) Safety the bolts (8) with (11) Prepare the equipment for electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(12) Install the bonding strap (3) on the ACT fuel-transfer pump (10) with the washer (2), the bolt (1) and the nut (4).
(13) Tighten the nut (4).
(14) Apply surface protection on the nut (4), bolt (1), washer (2) and bonding strap (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
CAUTION:
DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE COMPONENT DURING THE PROCEDURE. IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO COMPONENT.
(15) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.(16) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE BONDING STRAP(S) IS(ARE) CONNECTED BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S).
(17) Connect the electrical connector (5) to the ACT fuel-transfer pump (10). B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
Subtask 28-28-51-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
D. Test(s)
(1) If the ACT(s) is (are) installed:
(a) Do an operational check of the ACT manual transfer-system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-00-710-007).
(b) Examine the fuel transfer pump-element for fuel leaks. No fuel leakage is permitted.
Subtask 28-28-51-710-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If the ACT(s) is (are) installed:
(a) Do an operational check of the ACT manual transfer-system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-00-710-007).
(b) Examine the fuel transfer pump-element for fuel leaks. No fuel leakage is permitted.
D. Test(s)
(1) If the ACT(s) is (are) installed:
(a) Do an operational check of the ACT manual transfer-system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-00-710-001).
(b) Examine the fuel transfer pump-element for fuel leaks. A fuel leakage is not permitted.
5. Close-up(1) If the ACT(s) is (are) installed:
(a) Do an operational check of the ACT manual transfer-system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-00-710-001).
(b) Examine the fuel transfer pump-element for fuel leaks. A fuel leakage is not permitted.
Subtask 28-28-51-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the protective cover of the ACT-equipment support door (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-400-003).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Close left MLG door 734 (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(6) If you installed the safety barriers, remove them.
Subtask 28-28-51-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the protective cover of the ACT-equipment support door (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-400-003).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Close left MLG door 734 (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(6) If you installed the safety barriers, remove them.
B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
