Installation of the Pressure Holding Valve

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
Pressure Holding Valve (241QM, 242QM, 243QM) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Pressure Holding Valve (242QM, 243QM) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(3) On the FUEL section of panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position:
(6) Make sure that the fuel center tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(7) Make sure that the right MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(8) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the right MLG door.
(9) Make sure that access cover 147AZ is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
(10) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the valve (1).

Pressure Holding Valve (242QM, 243QM) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(3) On the FUEL section of panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position:
- On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, to tell persons not to operate the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch
- On the FUEL section of panel 40VU, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system
- On ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD on overhead panel 20VU, to tell persons not to operate the fire extinguishing system.
- On the Additional Center Tank (ACT) section of control panel 28VU to tell persons not to operate the fuel system.
(6) Make sure that the fuel center tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(7) Make sure that the right MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(8) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the right MLG door.
(9) Make sure that access cover 147AZ is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
(10) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the valve (1).

A. Installation of the Pressure Holding Valve
(1) Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to new packings (2).
(2) FOR [241QM] (VALVE-PRESSURE HOLDING, FWD ACT)
Install the AIPC 28-28-85-44-120 PACKING (2) on the pressure holding valve (1).
(3) FOR [242QM] (VALVE-PRESSURE HOLDING, ACT)
Install the AIPC 28-28-85-42-180 PACKING (2) on the pressure holding valve (1).
(4) FOR [243QM] (VALVE-PRESSURE HOLDING, AFT ACT)
Install the AIPC 28-28-85-43-500 PACKING (2) on the pressure holding valve (1).
(5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(6) Install the pressure holding valve (1) on the bracket (3).
(7) TORQUE the pressure holding valve (1) to between 2.0 and 1.5 m.daN (14.75 and 11.06 lbf.ft )

(1) Make sure that there are no unwanted objects and materials, tools or other equipment in the center tank.
(2) Install access cover 147AZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-400-001).

D. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).

E. Do the leak test of the pressure holding valves (241QM, 242QM and 243QM) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-49-720-001).

A. Removal of Equipment
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the container.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
