A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) When you do maintenance work on the fuel system, you must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(4) On the FUEL section of overhead panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position:
(7) Make sure that the fuel center tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(8) Make sure that the right MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(9) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the right MLG door.
(10) Make sure that access cover 148AZ is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
(11) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the relief valve.
Subtask 28-28-46-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) When you do maintenance work on the fuel system, you must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(4) On the FUEL section of overhead panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position:
- On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU to tell persons not to operate the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch
- On the FUEL section of overhead panel 40VU to tell persons not to operate the fuel system
- On the ENG/APU FIRE panel of overhead panel 20VU to tell persons not to operate the fire extinguishing system.
(7) Make sure that the fuel center tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(8) Make sure that the right MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(9) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the right MLG door.
(10) Make sure that access cover 148AZ is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
(11) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the relief valve.
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Installation of the Relief Valve (169QM)
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(4) Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to the new AIPC 28-28-05-04-180 O-RING (2).
(5) Install the new O-ring (2) on the relief valve (3).
(6) Install the relief valve (3).
(7) TORQUE the relief valve (3) to between 1.32 and 1.21 m.daN (116.81 and 107.08 lbf.in )

Subtask 28-28-46-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(4) FOR [237QM] (VALVE-THERMAL RELIEF, FWD ACT TRANSFER)
Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to a new AIPC 28-28-85-31-270 O-RING (2).
(5) FOR [238QM] (VALVE-THERMAL RELIEF, ACT TRANSFER)
Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to a new AIPC 28-28-85-20-180 O-RING (2).
(6) Install a new O-ring (2) on the relief valve (3).
(7) Install the relief valve (3).
(8) TORQUE the relief valve (3) to between 1.32 and 1.21 m.daN (116.81 and 107.08 lbf.in )

(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(4) Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to the new AIPC 28-28-85-20-180 O-RING (2).
(5) Install the new O-ring (2) on the relief valve (3).
(6) Install the relief valve (3).
(7) TORQUE the relief valve (3) to between 1.32 and 1.21 m.daN (116.81 and 107.08 lbf.in )

(1) Remove the container.
(2) Make sure that there are no unwanted objects and materials, tools or other equipment in the center tank.
(3) Install access cover 148AZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-400-001).

D. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).

A. Removal of Equipment
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. Close Access
(1) Close the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
