A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position on the panels that follow, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system:

(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position on the panels that follow, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system:
- Refuel/Defuel panels 800VU and 801VU
- Fuel panel 40VU
- Additional Center Tank (ACT) control panel 28VU.
Subtask 28-28-44-420-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Leak Monitor
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Fluorosilicone base Grease-System Fuel and oil resistant - (Material No.03KBB1) to the new AIPC 28-11-82-01-160 O-RING (2) and the new AIPC 28-11-82-01-190 O-RING (8).
(5) Put the leak monitor (1) with the O-ring (2) in the correct installation position.
(6) Install the washers (4) and the bolts (3).
(7) Put the O-ring (8) on the reducer union (7).
(8) Install the reducer union (7) in the leak monitor (1).
(9) Connect the hose assembly (5) to the reducer union (7).
Subtask 28-28-44-720-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Fluorosilicone base Grease-System Fuel and oil resistant - (Material No.03KBB1) to the new AIPC 28-11-82-01-160 O-RING (2) and the new AIPC 28-11-82-01-190 O-RING (8).
(5) Put the leak monitor (1) with the O-ring (2) in the correct installation position.
(6) Install the washers (4) and the bolts (3).
(7) Put the O-ring (8) on the reducer union (7).
(8) Install the reducer union (7) in the leak monitor (1).
(9) Connect the hose assembly (5) to the reducer union (7).
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE HOSE NUTS. USE ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE FITTING AND ONE WRENCH TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE HOSE NUT. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
(10) Install the hose nut (6) on the reducer union (7) and tighten the nut (6). B. Test
(1) Do the check of the ACT fuel leak monitor for a correct closure of the valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-00-200-003).

B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
