A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the panels that follow, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system:

Refuel/defuel panel 801VU,
Fuel panel 40VU,
Additional Center Tank (ACT) control panel 28VU.

B. Get Access
(1) On the lower center fuselage, make sure that the access panel 197AB is removed from the belly fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-28-44-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Installation of the Leak Monitor
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(4) Remove the outer valve (4) and the O-ring (5) from the leak monitor (1).
(5) Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE Fluorosilicone base Grease-System Fuel and oil resistant - (Material No.03KBB1) to the new O-rings (2), (5) and (8).
(6) Put the leak monitor (1) with the new O-ring (2) in the correct installation position.
(7) Install the screws (3).
(8) Put the new O-ring (8) on the reducer union (7).
(9) Install the reducer union (7) to the leak monitor (1).
(10) Connect the hose assembly (6) to the reducer union (7).
(11) Put the new AIPC 28-28-44-01-020 PACKING-PREFORMED (5) on the outer valve (4) and install the outer valve on the leak monitor (1).

B. Test
(1) Do the check of the ACT fuel leak monitor for a correct closure of the valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-00-200-003).

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Install the access panel 197AB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-001) on the belly fairing.

B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
