A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the panels that follow, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system:

Refuel/defuel control panel 801VU,
Fuel control panel 40VU.
Additional Center Tank (ACT) control panel 28VU.

Subtask 28-28-44-010-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

B. Get Access
(1) On the lower center fuselage, remove the access panel 197AB from the belly fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-28-44-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Leak Monitor
(1) Drain the leak monitor (1) with a 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN.
(2) Remove the outer valve (4) and discard the O-ring (5).

NOTE: Make sure that you do not cause damage to the thread insert when you remove the outer valve.

(3) Disconnect the hose assembly (6).
(4) Remove the reducer union (7) and the O-ring (8). Discard the O-ring (8).
(5) Remove the screws (3).
(6) Remove the leak monitor (1) and the O-ring (2). Discard the O-ring (2).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
