A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) When you do maintenance work on the fuel system you must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(4) On the FUEL section of overhead panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position:
(7) Make sure that the center tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(8) Make sure that the right MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(9) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the right MLG door.
(10) Make sure that access cover 148AZ or/and the ACT-equipment support door is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
(11) Make sure that the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) is in position below the ACT transfer check-valve.
Subtask 28-28-41-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) When you do maintenance work on the fuel system you must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(4) On the FUEL section of overhead panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position:
- On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU to tell persons not to operate the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch
- On the FUEL section of overhead panel 40VU to tell persons not to operate the fuel system
- On ACT control panel 28VU to tell persons not operate the control system
- On ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD installed on overhead panel 20VU to tell persons not to operate the fire extinguishing system.
(7) Make sure that the center tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(8) Make sure that the right MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(9) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the right MLG door.
(10) Make sure that access cover 148AZ or/and the ACT-equipment support door is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
(11) Make sure that the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) is in position below the ACT transfer check-valve.
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Installation of the Check Valve
(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to a new AIPC 28-28-05-08-110 O-RING (3) and to a new AIPC 28-28-05-08-110 O-RING (6).
(3) Install a new AIPC 28-28-05-08-110 O-RING (3) on the flange (20).
(4) Install the restrictor (2) on the check valve (21).
(5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) on the two faces of the flange (20).
(6) Install the flange (20) and the check valve (21) on the machined tee (18) with the bolts (22) and the nuts (19).
(7) TORQUE the nuts (19) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )
.
(8) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolts (22) and the nuts (19).
(9) Remove the CAP - BLANKING on the end pipe (5).
(10) Put the nut (8) in position on the end pipe (5).
(11) If the AIPC 28-28-05-08-140 RETAINING RING (7) is damaged, replace it.
(12) Install a new AIPC 28-28-05-08-110 O-RING (6) on the check valve (21).
(13) Connect the end pipe (5) to the check valve (21) and tighten the nut (8).
(14) Put the support (4) of the pipe (27) in position on the structure.
(15) Install the bolts (23) and the nuts (24).
(16) TORQUE the nuts (24) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )

(17) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolts (23) and the nuts (24).
(18) Put the support (1) in position on the structure.
(19) Install the washers (26) and the bolts (25).
(20) TORQUE the bolts (25) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(21) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolts (25) and the washers (26).
(22) Install the bonding straps (16) and (12) on the flange (20) with the bolt (13), the washer (14) and the nut (17).
(23) TORQUE the nut (17) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(24) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (13), the washer (14) and the nut (17).
(25) Install the bonding straps (11) and (12) on the check valve (21) with the bolt (9), the washer (10) and the nut (15).
(26) TORQUE the nut (15) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(27) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (9), the washer (10) and the nut (15).
(28) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
Subtask 28-28-41-420-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.

(4) Install the restrictor (2) on the check valve (21).
(5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) on the two faces of the flange (20).
(6) Install the flange (20) and the check valve (21) on the machined tee (18) with the bolts (22) and the nuts (19).
(7) TORQUE the nuts (19) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )
. (8) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolts (22) and the nuts (19).
(9) Remove the CAP - BLANKING on the end pipe (5).
(10) Put the nut (8) in position on the end pipe (5).
(11) If the AIPC 28-28-05-08-140 RETAINING RING (7) is damaged, replace it.
(12) Install a new AIPC 28-28-05-08-110 O-RING (6) on the check valve (21).
(13) Connect the end pipe (5) to the check valve (21) and tighten the nut (8).
(14) Put the support (4) of the pipe (27) in position on the structure.
(15) Install the bolts (23) and the nuts (24).
(16) TORQUE the nuts (24) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )
. (17) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolts (23) and the nuts (24).
(18) Put the support (1) in position on the structure.
(19) Install the washers (26) and the bolts (25).
(20) TORQUE the bolts (25) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )
. (21) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolts (25) and the washers (26).
(22) Install the bonding straps (16) and (12) on the flange (20) with the bolt (13), the washer (14) and the nut (17).
(23) TORQUE the nut (17) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )
. (24) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (13), the washer (14) and the nut (17).
(25) Install the bonding straps (11) and (12) on the check valve (21) with the bolt (9), the washer (10) and the nut (15).
(26) TORQUE the nut (15) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )
. (27) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (9), the washer (10) and the nut (15).
(28) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
A. Installation of the ACT Transfer Check-Valve
(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-110 O-RING (3), a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-110 O-RING (6) and a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-150 O-RING (11).
(3) Install a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-110 O-RING (6) on the flange (5).
(4) Install the restrictor (4) on the flange (5).
(5) Install a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-110 O-RING (3) on the machined tee (1).
(6) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) on the two faces of the flange (5).
(7) Install the flange (5) and the ACT transfer check-valve (7) on the machined tee (1) with the bolts (8) and the nuts (2).
(8) TORQUE the nuts (2) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )
.
(9) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolts (8) and the nuts (2).
(10) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the end pipe (21).
(11) Install a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-150 O-RING (11) on the end pipe (21).
(12) If the AIPC 28-28-85-08-140 RETAINING RING (10) is damaged, replace it.
(13) Put the nut (9) in position on the end pipe (21).
(14) Connect the end pipe (21) to the ACT transfer check-valve (7) and tighten the nut (9).
(15) Put the support (30) of the pipe (29) in position on the structure.
(16) Install the bolts (22) and the nuts (23).
(17) TORQUE the nuts (23) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )

(18) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolts (22) and the nuts (23).
(19) Put the support (28) of the pipe (29) in position on the structure.
(20) Install the washer (24) and the bolt (25).
(21) TORQUE the bolt (25) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )

(22) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (25) and the washer (24).
(23) Install the washer (27) and the bolt (26) on the support (28).
(24) TORQUE the bolt (26) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )

(25) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (26) and the washer (27).
(26) Install the bonding leads (15) and (19) on the flange (5) with the bolt (17), the washer (18) and the nut (20).
(27) TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(28) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (17), the washer (18) and the nut (20).
(29) Install the bonding leads (14) and (15) on the ACT transfer check-valve (7) with the bolt (12), the washer (13) and the nut (16).
(30) TORQUE the nut (16) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(31) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (12), the washer (13) and the nut (16).
(32) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
Subtask 28-28-41-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Apply Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-110 O-RING (3), a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-110 O-RING (6) and a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-150 O-RING (11).
(3) Install a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-110 O-RING (6) on the flange (5).
(4) Install the restrictor (4) on the flange (5).
(5) Install a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-110 O-RING (3) on the machined tee (1).
(6) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) on the two faces of the flange (5).
(7) Install the flange (5) and the ACT transfer check-valve (7) on the machined tee (1) with the bolts (8) and the nuts (2).
(8) TORQUE the nuts (2) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )
. (9) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolts (8) and the nuts (2).
(10) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the end pipe (21).
(11) Install a new AIPC 28-28-85-08-150 O-RING (11) on the end pipe (21).
(12) If the AIPC 28-28-85-08-140 RETAINING RING (10) is damaged, replace it.
(13) Put the nut (9) in position on the end pipe (21).
(14) Connect the end pipe (21) to the ACT transfer check-valve (7) and tighten the nut (9).
(15) Put the support (30) of the pipe (29) in position on the structure.
(16) Install the bolts (22) and the nuts (23).
(17) TORQUE the nuts (23) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )
. (18) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolts (22) and the nuts (23).
(19) Put the support (28) of the pipe (29) in position on the structure.
(20) Install the washer (24) and the bolt (25).
(21) TORQUE the bolt (25) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )
. (22) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (25) and the washer (24).
(23) Install the washer (27) and the bolt (26) on the support (28).
(24) TORQUE the bolt (26) to between 1.06 and 0.82 m.daN (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )
. (25) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (26) and the washer (27).
(26) Install the bonding leads (15) and (19) on the flange (5) with the bolt (17), the washer (18) and the nut (20).
(27) TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )
. (28) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (17), the washer (18) and the nut (20).
(29) Install the bonding leads (14) and (15) on the ACT transfer check-valve (7) with the bolt (12), the washer (13) and the nut (16).
(30) TORQUE the nut (16) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )
. (31) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) on the bolt (12), the washer (13) and the nut (16).
(32) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).

D. Visual Inspection
(1) Make sure that there is no leakage at the check valve (21) and at the connections between the pipe (27) and the machined tee (18).

D. Visual Inspection
(1) Make sure that there is no leakage at the ACT transfer chheck-valve (7) and at the connections between the pipe (29) and the machined tee (1).

E. Close Access
(1) Make sure that there are no unwanted objects and materials, tools or other equipment in the center tank.
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install access cover 148AZ or/and the ACT-equipment support door (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-400-001).
