WARNING:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET AIRCRAFT FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are on control panels that follow, to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system:
(5) Make sure that aft cargo compartment door 826 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(6) Make sure that CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU is set to the ON position.
(7) Make sure that the access panel (9) is opened or the ACT AFT2 and sidewall panel 152DW are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-003). (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-003).
Subtask 28-28-39-865-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized

(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are on control panels that follow, to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system:
- Refuel/defuel control panels 800VU and 801VU
- Fuel control panel 40VU
- Additional Center Tank (ACT) control panel 28VU.
(5) Make sure that aft cargo compartment door 826 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(6) Make sure that CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU is set to the ON position.
(7) Make sure that the access panel (9) is opened or the ACT AFT2 and sidewall panel 152DW are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-003). (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-003).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 28-28-39-420-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Air Filter Assembly
(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(5) Install the new AIPC 28-28-84-05-550 PACKING (4) on the union (3).
(6) Connect the union (3) to the air filter assembly (7) and tighten it.
(7) Put the air filter assembly (7) in its installation position.
(8) Install the nuts (5).
(9) Loosely install the nut (2) on the union (3).
(11) Bonding of the equipment:
(a) Prepare equipment for electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(b) Install the nut (6).
(c) Apply surface protection on the nut (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
5. Close-up(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(5) Install the new AIPC 28-28-84-05-550 PACKING (4) on the union (3).
(6) Connect the union (3) to the air filter assembly (7) and tighten it.
(7) Put the air filter assembly (7) in its installation position.
(8) Install the nuts (5).
(9) Loosely install the nut (2) on the union (3).
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE FITTINGS WHEN YOU LOOSEN/TIGHTEN THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE TUBES.
(10) Tighten the nut (2). (11) Bonding of the equipment:
(a) Prepare equipment for electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(b) Install the nut (6).
(c) Apply surface protection on the nut (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Do step (a) or (b) as applicable:
(a) Close the access panel (9):
1 Install the access panel (9) and the studs (8) on sidewall panel 152DW.
2 TORQUE the studs (8) to between 0.06 and 0.055 m.daN (5.31 and 4.87 lbf.in )

(b) Install sidewall panel 152DW and the ACT AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-400-003) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-003).
(3) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close aft cargo compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 28-28-39-860-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Do step (a) or (b) as applicable:
(a) Close the access panel (9):
1 Install the access panel (9) and the studs (8) on sidewall panel 152DW.
2 TORQUE the studs (8) to between 0.06 and 0.055 m.daN (5.31 and 4.87 lbf.in )
. (b) Install sidewall panel 152DW and the ACT AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-400-003) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-003).
(3) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close aft cargo compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) On refuel/defuel control panels 801VU and 800VU, on fuel control panel 40VU and on ACT control panel 28VU:
(a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(1) On refuel/defuel control panels 801VU and 800VU, on fuel control panel 40VU and on ACT control panel 28VU:
(a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
