A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the control panels that follow, to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system:

(2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the control panels that follow, to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system:
- Refuel/defuel control panels 800VU and 801VU
- Fuel control panel 40VU
- Additional Center Tank (ACT) control panel 28VU.

C. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below aft cargo compartment door 826.
(2) Open aft cargo compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the ON position.
(4) On sidewall panel 152DW:
(a) Release the studs (8) and open the access panel (9).
(5) If there is not enough space to remove the air filter assembly (7) through the access hole on sidewall panel 152DW:
(a) Remove the ACT AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-003).
(b) Remove sidewall panel 152DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-003).
4. Procedure(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below aft cargo compartment door 826.
(2) Open aft cargo compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the ON position.
(4) On sidewall panel 152DW:
(a) Release the studs (8) and open the access panel (9).
(5) If there is not enough space to remove the air filter assembly (7) through the access hole on sidewall panel 152DW:
(a) Remove the ACT AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-003).
(b) Remove sidewall panel 152DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-003).
Subtask 28-28-39-020-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Air Filter Assembly
(2) Remove the nuts (5) and (6) and the air filter assembly (7).
(3) Loosen the union (3) and disconnect it from the air filter assembly (7).
(4) Remove and discard the packing (4).
(5) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE FITTINGS WHEN YOU LOOSEN/TIGHTEN THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE TUBES.
(1) Loosen the nut (2) and disconnect the pipe (1) from the union (3). (2) Remove the nuts (5) and (6) and the air filter assembly (7).
(3) Loosen the union (3) and disconnect it from the air filter assembly (7).
(4) Remove and discard the packing (4).
(5) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
