A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on:
Subtask 28-28-37-010-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on:
- the refuel/defuel panel 801VU,
- the fuel panel 40VU,
to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system.
B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the opening of the aft cargo-compartment.
(3) Make sure that the Integrated Impact Wall is removed from the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-49-000-001).
Subtask 28-28-37-010-058-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the opening of the aft cargo-compartment.
(3) Make sure that the Integrated Impact Wall is removed from the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-49-000-001).
B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the opening of the aft cargo-compartment.
(3) For the Check Valve 177QM2, make sure that the Integrated Impact Wall is removed from the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-49-000-001).
(4) For the Check Valve 177QM1, make sure the Additional Center Tank No.2 (ACT2) is removed from the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-001).
Subtask 28-28-37-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the opening of the aft cargo-compartment.
(3) For the Check Valve 177QM2, make sure that the Integrated Impact Wall is removed from the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-49-000-001).
(4) For the Check Valve 177QM1, make sure the Additional Center Tank No.2 (ACT2) is removed from the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-001).
C. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 28-28-37-420-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Check Valve
(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 28-12-04-12-040 O-RING (2) and AIPC 28-12-04-12-040 O-RING (3).
(5) Put the O-rings (2) and (3) in position on the check valve (4).
(6) Put the check valve (4) in position on the receptacle (1).
(8) Connect the pressure line (7) to the check valve (4) and tighten the union nut (8).
Subtask 28-28-37-865-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

(4) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 28-12-04-12-040 O-RING (2) and AIPC 28-12-04-12-040 O-RING (3).
(5) Put the O-rings (2) and (3) in position on the check valve (4).
(6) Put the check valve (4) in position on the receptacle (1).
NOTE: Make sure that the O-rings (2) and (3) stay in the groove of the check valve (4).
(7) Install the screws (6) and the washers (5). (8) Connect the pressure line (7) to the check valve (4) and tighten the union nut (8).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Close Access
(1) Install the Integrated Impact Wall in the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-49-400-001).
(2) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
Subtask 28-28-37-410-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the Integrated Impact Wall in the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-49-400-001).
(2) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
A. Close Access
(1) For the Check Valve 177QM1, install the ACT2 in the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-001).
(2) For the Check Valve 177QM2, install the Integrated Impact Wall in the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-49-400-001).
(3) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
Subtask 28-28-37-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) For the Check Valve 177QM1, install the ACT2 in the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-001).
(2) For the Check Valve 177QM2, install the Integrated Impact Wall in the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-49-400-001).
(3) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
