3. Job Set-up
Subtask 28-28-11-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) When you do maintenance work on the fuel system you must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
   (4) On the FUEL section of panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
   (5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is on the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, to tell persons not to operate the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch.
   (6) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is on the FUEL section of panel 40VU, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system.
   (7) Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) is on the ENG/APU FIRE panel located on overhead panel 20VU, to tell persons not to operate the fire extinguishing system.
   (8) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the Main Landing Gear (MLG) doors.
   (9) Make sure that the left MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (10) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the left MLG door.
   (11) Make sure that the protective cover of the ACT-equipment support door is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-003).
   (12) Make sure that the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) is in position below the pressure switch.

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-28-11-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Pressure Switch
   (1) Preparation for installation
     (a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
     (b) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (d) Lubricate the new O-rings (2) and (5) with Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) or Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) .
   (2) Install the ACT fuel-transfer-pump pressure-switch
     (a) Remove the blanking caps from the sealing valve (1) and the pressure switch (3).
     (b) Install the new AIPC 28-28-03-04-090 O-RING (2) and the new AIPC 28-28-03-04-090 O-RING (5) in the grooves of the pressure switch (3).
     (c) Install the pressure switch (3) on the sealing valve (1) and install the plug (6).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (d) Safety the plug (6) to the sealing valve (1) with lockwire (7) 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
     (e) Remove the blanking caps and connect the electrical connector (4) to the pressure switch (3).
Subtask 28-28-11-420-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the ACT Fuel-Transfer-Pump Pressure-Switch
   (1) Preparation for installation:
     (a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.

     (b) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

   (2) Install the ACT fuel-transfer-pump pressure-switch
     (a) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the safety valve (7) and the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4).
     (b) Install the new AIPC 28-28-83-04-090 O-RING (3) and the new AIPC 28-28-83-04-090 O-RING (6) in the grooves of the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4).
     (c) Install the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4) on the safety valve (7) and install the plug (1).
     (d) Tighten the plug (1).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (e) Safety the plug (1) to the safety valve (7) with lockwire (2) 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (f) Remove the CAP - BLANKING and connect the electrical connector (5) to the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4).

D. Test(s)
   (1) If the ACT is installed:
     (a) Do an operational test of the ACT fuel-transfer-pump pressure-switch (2QH) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-00-710-003).
     (b) Examine the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (2QH) for fuel leaks. No fuel leakage is permitted.
5. Close-up
Subtask 28-28-11-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Install the protective cover of the ACT-equipment support door (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-400-003).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Close the left MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (6) On the FUEL section of panel 40VU, the APU section of overhead panel 25VU and the ENG/APU FIRE panel located on overhead panel 20VU:
     (a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (7) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
