   (2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (3) On the APU section of the overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
   (4) On the FUEL section of the HYD/FUEL panel 40VU, make sure that all TK PUMP pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
   (5) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position:
  • On the APU section of the overhead panel 25VU, to tell persons not to operate the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch,
  • On the FUEL section of the panel 40VU, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system.
  • On the ACT control section of the panel 28VU, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system.
   (6) Make sure that the ACT vent valve is deactivated in valve CLOSED position (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-00-040-007).

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-28-00-869-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. ACT Vent Valve - Simulation Fully Open
WARNING: USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Remove the O-ring (2), cut and discard the lockwire from the screw (7).
   (2) Loosen the screw (7) and remove the clamp (3).
   (3) Remove the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING (5) from the flange of the ACT vent valve (1).
   (4) Turn the shaft of the ACT vent valve (1) to valve OPEN position.
   (5) Put the T720521 TOOL-VALVE LOCKING (5) in position on the flange of the ACT vent valve (1), to lock the ACT vent valve in OPEN position.
   (6) Install the O-ring (2) on the slot.
   (7) Install the clamp (3) on the flange of the ACT vent valve (1).
   (8) Tighten the screw (7) to safety the T720521 TOOL-VALVE LOCKING (5) on the valve (1).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (9) Safety the screw (7) with 14QFC1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES -.
   (10) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (11) On the line end of the electrical connector A:
     (a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connector (4).
     (b) Remove the BRIDGE-WIRE (shunt) from the electrical connector (4) between the pins B and E.
     (c) Install the BRIDGE-WIRE (shunt) on the electrical connector (4) between the pins A and D.
NOTE: In this configuration, the installed bypass simulates the aircraft that the ACT vent valve is fully open.
NOTE: A second shunt is not necessary on the electrical connector B (6) of the ACT vent valve.
   (12) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
NOTE: On refuel/defuel control panel 801VU, the AFMS FAULT light comes on after AFMC power up test.
   (13) Refuel the applicable ACT(s) with manual control (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004).
   (14) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
   (15) On the line end of the electrical connector A:
     (a) Remove the BRIDGE-WIRE (shunt) from the electrical connector (4) between pins A and D.
     (b) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (c) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (d) Install the BRIDGE-WIRE (shunt) on the electrical connector (4) between pins B and E.
     (e) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector (4).
     (f) Make sure that both electrical connectors (4) and (6) are correctly attached to the adjacent electrical harness.
   (16) Remove the O-ring (2), cut and discard the lockwire from the screw (7).
   (17) Loosen the screw (7) and remove the clamp (3).
   (18) Remove the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING (5) from the flange of the ACT vent valve (1).
   (19) Turn the shaft of the ACT Vent Valve (1) to valve CLOSED position.
