F Access to Test Ports T1 and T2 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) In the aft cargo compartment, remove ceiling panel 151NC to get access to the test ports of the ACT pressurization system (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-002).
   (2) Connect a AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY maximum pressure to test port T1.
   (3) Connect a GAGE 5 BAR (75 PSI) - PRESSURE maximum to test port T2.
NOTE: You can use 98D28108658000 TOOL-PRESSURE TEST,ACT as an alternative tool and connect it to test ports T1 and T2.
   (4) On the refuel/defuel control-panel 800/801VU, make sure that the access door of the panel is closed.
   (5) Do the flight-configuration precaution procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).
Subtask 28-28-00-710-058-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED AIR:
  • USE THE CORRECT PROTECTION (FACE SHIELD OR GOGGLES)
  • DO NOT POINT THE AIRFLOW AT YOURSELF OR OTHER PERSONS.
LOOSE PARTICLES AND/OR HIGH PRESSURE AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY.
B. Test
NOTE: Airbus recommends you to keep the fuel transfer rate of approximately 74 -10 kg.min or +10 kg.min (163 -22 lb.min or +22 lb.min), with an ACT pressurization of 450 mbar (6.53 psi) and an aircraft pitch of 2 deg (2 deg).
The highest fuel transfer rate, with a maximum positive gravity-head, is calculated from these parameters:
  • A temperature of approximately 40 DEG.C (104 DEG.F)
  • The fuel quantity in ACT(s) is 2992 l (790 USgal)
  • The center tank is almost empty.
The lowest fuel transfer rate, with a minimum positive gravity-head, is calculated from these parameters:
  • A temperature of approximately -40 DEG.C (-40 DEG.F)
  • The ACT(s) is (are) almost empty
  • The fuel quantity in the center tank is 8250 l (2179 USgal).
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the ground pressure generator:
  • Start the air supply with 1 bar (14.5 psi).
On the pressure gauge at test port T1:
  • Make sure that the air pressure is 1 bar (14.5 psi).
On the pressure gauge at test port T2:
  • Make sure that the air pressure is 0 bar (0 psi).
WARNING: DO NOT PUT YOUR FINGERS IN THE UPLOCK MECHANISM. THIS IS DANGEROUS.
F MLG Uplock - Schematic ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Use a ROD - NON METALLIC (or an equivalent tool) to move the right MLG uplock hook to the closed and locked position.

3.Record the time when the aircraft is in the simulated flight mode.

4.Set the aircraft to the simulated flight mode while you do the test of the automatic transfer system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-69-00-860-802).
NOTE: Transfer starts after 30 minutes due to time relay 113QH.
On the pressure gauge at test port T2:
  • The air pressure increases to 0.45 -0.01 bar or +0.01 bar (6.53 -0.15 psi or +0.15 psi).
NOTE: It is necessary to wait for some minutes to get the necessary air pressure at test port T2.
On the FUEL page of the lower ECAM-system DU:
  • If, Approximately 12 minutes after the simulated flight mode, the indication on the FUEL page goes out of the view, do step 5. If not, go to step 6.
NOTE: The FUEL indication on the DU shows no data when the aircraft is in the simulated flight mode while you do this test.
5.If XXXX comes into view as an alternative to numbers on ECAM fuel page:
Do a reset of the Fuel Quantity Indication Computer (FQIC).
Open and close these circuit breakers at the same time:
  • FUEL/FQI/CHAN/1 (FIN 1QT)
  • FUEL/FQI/CHAN/2 (FIN 2QT)
  • FUEL/FQI/CHANNEL/1 AND 2 (FIN 8QT).

6.Look at the FUEL page of the lower ECAM-system DU.
On the FUEL page of the lower ECAM-system DU:
  • The indication on the FUEL page comes back into view
  • The amber arrow comes into view
  • The fuel level in the ACT(s) starts to decrease, and the fuel level in the center tank starts to increase at the same time
  • The fuel level in the center tank increases until all the ACT(s) are empty
  • When you defuel only the ACT AFT1, the arrow becomes green
  • When the ACT AFT1 is empty, the green arrow goes out of view as transfer stops
  • The fuel transfer stops immediately when the ACTs are empty.
NOTE: The automatic fuel transfer from the ACT(s) to the center tank starts in a sequence. When the first ACT is empty of fuel, then the fuel transfer goes on with the adjacent ACT(s).
NOTE: If the aircraft has ACT fuel-flow-sequence configuration B, then all the fuel will be removed from the ACT(s) by the flow sequence:
  • ACT FWD - AFT2 - AFT1 (If all the ACT(s) are installed).
If the aircraft has ACT fuel-flow-sequence configuration D, then all the fuel will be removed from the ACT(s) by the flow sequence:
  • ACT AFT2 - FWD -AFT1 (If all the ACT(s) are installed).
7.On panel 110VU:
  • Operate the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle three turns in a clockwise direction.
F MLG Uplock - Schematic ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Do a visual inspection of the uplock hooks to make sure that they are in the fully open position:
NOTE: You can use a STEPLADDER 2.0 M (6.6 FT) to get the access of uplock hooks.
  • If necessary, use a ROD - NON METALLIC (or an equivalent tool) to move the uplock hooks to the fully open position
  • Do not apply too much force to put the uplock hooks in the fully open position.
On panel 110VU:
  • Operate the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle three turns in a counterclockwise direction. Put it in its normal (stowed) position.

8.Stop the isolated task related to the simulation of flight (with aircraft on ground) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-69-00-860-802).

9.On the ground pressure generator:
  • Stop the air supply.
On the pressure gauges at test ports T1 and T2:
  • The air pressure decreases to 0 bar (0 psi).

   (1) Do the functional (BITE) test (Ref. AMM TASK 28-46-00-740-001) and the status report (BITE) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-00-740-001) to do the check of the correct function of the FQIC after the computer reset.
