A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (4) On the ECAM control panel push the FUEL P/BSW, on the lower ECAM DU the FUEL page comes into view.

A. Operational Test
ACTION

1.On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:
  • make sure that the ACT pushbutton is released (FWD and FAULT legends are not on).

2.In the compartment of the main landing gear at FR42 (Left side center tank access door):
  • make sure that the position indicator of the ACT fuel transfer-valve actuator (6QH) is in the closed position (cross-line).
  • disconnect the electrical connector 6QH-B from the ACT fuel transfer-valve actuator (motor 2).

3.On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:
  • push the ACT pushbutton.
On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:
  • the FWD legend in the ACT pushbutton switch comes on.

In the compartment of the main landing gear at FR42 (Left side center tank access door):
  • the ACT fuel transfer valve (165QM) moves to the open position,
  • the position indicator of the ACT fuel transfer-valve actuator (6QH) shows the open position (in-line).
4.On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:
  • release the ACT pushbutton.
On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:
  • the FWD legend in the ACT pushbutton switch goes off.

  • the ACT fuel transfer valve (165QM) moves to the closed position,
  • the position indicator of the ACT fuel transfer-valve actuator (6QH) shows the closed position (cross-line).
5.In the compartment of the main landing gear at FR42 (Left side center tank access door):
  • connect the electrical connector 6QH-B to the ACT fuel transfer-valve actuator (motor 2),
  • disconnect the electrical connector 6QH-A from the ACT fuel transfer-valve actuator (motor 1).

6.On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:
  • push the ACT pushbutton.
On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:
  • the FWD legend in the ACT pushbutton switch comes on.

In the compartment of the main landing gear at FR42 (Left side center tank access door):
  • the ACT fuel transfer valve (165QM) moves to the open position,
  • the position indicator of the ACT fuel transfer-valve actuator (6QH) shows the open position (in-line).
7.On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:
  • release the ACT pushbutton.
On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:
  • the FWD legend in the ACT pushbutton switch goes off.
8.On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:
  • push the ACT pushbutton.
In the compartment of the main landing gear at FR42 (Left side center tank access door):
  • the ACT fuel transfer valve (165QM) remains in the open position,
  • the position indicator of the ACT fuel transfer-valve actuator (6QH) shows the open position (in-line).
9.In the compartment of the main landing gear at FR42 (Left side center tank access door):
  • connect the electrical connector 6QH-A to the ACT fuel transfer-valve actuator (motor 1).

10.On the overhead FUEL panel 40VU:



  • release the ACT pushbutton.
In the compartment of the main landing gear at FR42 (Left side center tank access door):
  • the ACT fuel transfer valve (165QM) moves to the closed position,
  • the position indicator of the ACT fuel transfer-valve actuator (6QH) shows the closed position (cross-line).

A. Operational Check of Motor 1 of Transfer Valve
ACTION
RESULT
1.In the cockpit, on Additional Center Tank (ACT) control-panel 28VU:
  • Make sure that the ACT pushbutton switch is released (FWD and FAULT legends are off).

CAUTION: YOU MUST NOT BEND THE ELECTRICAL HARNESSES TOO MUCH WHEN YOU DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. THE HARNESSES CAN BE DAMAGED AND CAUSE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT DEFECT.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR IS CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT IT. CONTAMINATION OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR CAN CAUSE INCORRECT FIRE DETECTION.
2.In the Main Landing Gear (MLG) compartment at FR42 (left-side center-tank access-door):
  • Make sure that the position indicator of the ACT fuel-transfer-valve actuator (6QH) is in the closed position (cross-line).
  • Disconnect electrical connector 6QH-B from the ACT fuel-transfer-valve actuator (motor 2).

3.In the cockpit, on ACT control-panel 28VU:
  • Push (in) the ACT pushbutton switch.
In the cockpit, on ACT control-panel 28VU:
  • The FWD legend in the ACT pushbutton switch comes on.

In the MLG compartment at FR42 (left-side center-tank access-door):
  • ACT fuel-transfer valve (165QM) moves to the open position.
  • The position indicator of ACT fuel-transfer-valve actuator (6QH) shows the open position (in-line).
4.In the cockpit, on ACT control-panel 28VU:
  • Release (out) the ACT pushbutton switch.

6.In the cockpit, on ACT control-panel 28VU:
  • Push (in) the ACT pushbutton switch.
In the cockpit, on ACT control-panel 28VU:
  • The FWD legend in the ACT pushbutton switch comes on.

In the MLG compartment at FR42 (left-side center-tank access-door):
  • ACT fuel-transfer valve (165QM) moves to the open position.
  • The position indicator of ACT fuel-transfer-valve actuator (6QH) shows the open position (in-line).

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (2) Close the main landing-gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
