A. ACT Maintenance Configuration.
Subtask 28-28-00-010-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: Make sure that you follow the I.A.T.A. Dangerous Goods Regulations.
NOTE: Make sure that all blanks, caps and plugs are removed from the ACT for a minimum of twenty-four hours so that no gas or fumes remain in the ACT.
NOTE: Make sure that no liquids remain in the ACT.
NOTE: All blanking plates, plugs and caps related to the ACT are in the ACT box. If you remove these parts, you must put them back into the ACT box.
B. Remove the ACT for Storage Preparation.
(1) Remove the ACT from the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-001).
Subtask 28-28-00-650-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the ACT from the aft cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-001).
WARNING:
SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Lift the ACT on a JACK - SAFETY STAY, to get access to the water drain valves in the base plate of the ACT. C. Drain the Remaining Fuel from the ACT.
(1) Put a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) in position below the water drain valve 174QM.
(2) Put the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN in position on the water drain valve 174QM.
(3) Push the purger to drain the liquid from the ACT into the container.
(4) Do the task again on the water drain valve 175QM.
(5) Clean the area around the drain valves for signs of liquid with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
Subtask 28-28-00-010-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) in position below the water drain valve 174QM.
(2) Put the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN in position on the water drain valve 174QM.
(3) Push the purger to drain the liquid from the ACT into the container.
(4) Do the task again on the water drain valve 175QM.
(5) Clean the area around the drain valves for signs of liquid with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
D. Get Access
(1) Remove the manhole covers from the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-004) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Remove the manhole covers from the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-004) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-001).
Subtask 28-28-00-620-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preservation of the ACT for storage.

Subtask 28-28-00-550-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The storage procedure must be done in the workshop only, because of the possibility that the bladder tank can be damaged.
(1) Do the storage procedure in the workshop B. Seal the Openings of the ACT.
(1) On the bottom of the ACT, install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-110 PLUG-BLANKING (1) with a new AIPC 28-11-04-05-120 O-RING (2) on the cavity drain port.
(2) Install the manhole covers on the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-400-004).
(3) Attach a label to the manhole cover to tell persons to do a leak test when the ACT is refuelled.
(4) Apply a drop of sealant Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the edge of the manhole cover.
(5) On the top of the ACT, install a AIPC 28-11-04-05-100 CAP (3) on the port of the inward-relief valve.
On the aft wall of the ACT:
(6) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on all new O-rings.
(7) Put the AIPC 28-11-04-05-060 O-RING (6) and AIPC 28-11-04-05-040 O-RING (5) in position on the fuel-pipe and vent-pipe of the ACT.
(8) Install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-090 FLANGE-BLANKING (4) on the fuel-pipe and vent-pipe of the ACT.
For the forward wall of the ACT:
(9) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on all new O-rings.
(10) Put the AIPC 28-11-04-05-060 O-RING (6) and AIPC 28-11-04-05-040 O-RING (5) in position on the fuel-pipe of the ACT.
(11) Install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-090 FLANGE-BLANKING (4) on the fuel-pipe of the ACT.
(12) Put the AIPC 28-11-04-05-060 O-RING (6) and AIPC 28-11-04-05-040 O-RING (5) in position on the vent-pipe of the ACT.
(13) Install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-030 FLANGE-BLANKING (7) on the vent-pipe of the ACT.
(14) Install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-080 PACKING (8) with the AIPC 28-11-04-05-070 PLUG (9) on the blanking-cap of the vent-pipe.
14QDB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(16) Put the AIPC 28-11-04-05-040 O-RING (10) in position on the blanking cap of the vent-pipe.
(17) Install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-010 FLANGE-BLANKING (11) on the blanking cap to cover the bleeding-plug.
(18) Make sure that the bonding straps on the upper left and right hand side of the ACT are correctly attached to the ACT with Sealing Profile-- Silicone Foam - (Material No.14JAB1) .
(19) Make sure that the electrical connectors are in the correct stowage position on the ACT.
Subtask 28-28-00-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the bottom of the ACT, install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-110 PLUG-BLANKING (1) with a new AIPC 28-11-04-05-120 O-RING (2) on the cavity drain port.
(2) Install the manhole covers on the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-400-004).
(3) Attach a label to the manhole cover to tell persons to do a leak test when the ACT is refuelled.
(4) Apply a drop of sealant Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the edge of the manhole cover.
(5) On the top of the ACT, install a AIPC 28-11-04-05-100 CAP (3) on the port of the inward-relief valve.
NOTE: The designation forward and aft are the given direction when the ACT is installed in the aircraft.
On the aft wall of the ACT:
(6) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on all new O-rings.
(7) Put the AIPC 28-11-04-05-060 O-RING (6) and AIPC 28-11-04-05-040 O-RING (5) in position on the fuel-pipe and vent-pipe of the ACT.
(8) Install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-090 FLANGE-BLANKING (4) on the fuel-pipe and vent-pipe of the ACT.
For the forward wall of the ACT:
(9) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on all new O-rings.
(10) Put the AIPC 28-11-04-05-060 O-RING (6) and AIPC 28-11-04-05-040 O-RING (5) in position on the fuel-pipe of the ACT.
(11) Install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-090 FLANGE-BLANKING (4) on the fuel-pipe of the ACT.
(12) Put the AIPC 28-11-04-05-060 O-RING (6) and AIPC 28-11-04-05-040 O-RING (5) in position on the vent-pipe of the ACT.
(13) Install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-030 FLANGE-BLANKING (7) on the vent-pipe of the ACT.
(14) Install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-080 PACKING (8) with the AIPC 28-11-04-05-070 PLUG (9) on the blanking-cap of the vent-pipe.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(15) Safety the bleeding-plug with (16) Put the AIPC 28-11-04-05-040 O-RING (10) in position on the blanking cap of the vent-pipe.
(17) Install the AIPC 28-11-04-05-010 FLANGE-BLANKING (11) on the blanking cap to cover the bleeding-plug.
(18) Make sure that the bonding straps on the upper left and right hand side of the ACT are correctly attached to the ACT with Sealing Profile-- Silicone Foam - (Material No.14JAB1) .
(19) Make sure that the electrical connectors are in the correct stowage position on the ACT.
C. Installation of the ACT for Transportation.
Subtask 28-28-00-860-085-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: 1. DO NOT INSTALL PALLETS OR CONTAINERS LOADED WITH FLAMMABLE GOODS IN THE SAME CARGO COMPARTMENT AS THE ACT.
2. DO NOT LOAD OPEN PALLETS DIRECTLY BEHIND THE ACT.
3. DO NOT LOAD HEAVY POINT LOADS DIRECTLY BEHIND THE ACT.

NOTE: An empty ACT weighs approximately 410 kg (903.0 lb).
The ACT fulfils the minimum pressure requirements for the transportation of Class 3 liquids in the I.A.T.A. Dangerous Goods Regulations.

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Open the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Put the ACT in load position on the opening of the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door.
Subtask 28-28-00-210-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Open the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Put the ACT in load position on the opening of the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door.
E. Forward and/or Aft Cargo-Compartment
(1) Make sure that all latches in the forward and/or aft cargo compartment(s) are lowered.
Subtask 28-28-00-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that all latches in the forward and/or aft cargo compartment(s) are lowered.
F. Load an ACT in the forward Cargo-Compartment.
(2) Move the ACT to the aft direction until the end position.
(3) When the ACT is in position, raise the latch elements of the XZ-latches to lock and secure the ACT in place.
Subtask 28-28-00-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The load procedure of one ACT is given. The load procedure in the forward cargo-compartment for subsequent ACT is the same.
(1) Move the ACT onto the ball mat area of the forward cargo-compartment. (2) Move the ACT to the aft direction until the end position.
(3) When the ACT is in position, raise the latch elements of the XZ-latches to lock and secure the ACT in place.
G. Load an ACT in the aft Cargo-Compartment.
(2) Move the ACT to the forward direction until the end position.
(3) When the ACT is in the selected load position, raise the latch elements of the related XZ-latches to lock and secure the ACT in place.
Subtask 28-28-00-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The load procedure of one ACT is given. The load procedure for subsequent ACT in the aft cargo-compartment is the same.
(1) Move the ACT onto the ball mat area of the aft cargo-compartment. (2) Move the ACT to the forward direction until the end position.
(3) When the ACT is in the selected load position, raise the latch elements of the related XZ-latches to lock and secure the ACT in place.
H. Removal of the ACT
Subtask 28-28-00-860-086-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: An empty ACT weighs approximately 410 kg (903.9 lb).
I. Aircraft Configuration
(1) Open the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE at the opening of the cargo-compartment to accommodate the ACT.
Subtask 28-28-00-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Open the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE at the opening of the cargo-compartment to accommodate the ACT.
J. Offload the ACT from the forward Cargo-Compartment.
(2) Move the ACT to the forward direction to the ball mat area.
(3) Move the ACT out of the aircraft onto the applicable loader or platform.
Subtask 28-28-00-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The offload procedure of one ACT is given. The offload procedure for subsequent ACT in the forward cargo-compartment is the same.
(1) Lower the XZ-latches which hold the ACT in the load position. (2) Move the ACT to the forward direction to the ball mat area.
(3) Move the ACT out of the aircraft onto the applicable loader or platform.
K. Offload the ACT from the Aft Cargo-Compartment
(2) Move the ACT to the aft direction onto the ball mat area.
(3) Move the ACT out of the aircraft onto the applicable loader or platform.
NOTE: The offload procedure of one ACT is given. The offload procedure for subsequent ACT in the aft cargo compartment is the same.
(1) Lower the XZ-latches which hold the ACT in the load position. (2) Move the ACT to the aft direction onto the ball mat area.
(3) Move the ACT out of the aircraft onto the applicable loader or platform.
