CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
A. ACT Vent Valve is OFF in the closed position NOTE: The ACT vent valve can stay in CLOSED position during the flight.
(1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (4) and (5) from the receptacles of the actuator (3). (2) On the line end of the electrical connector A, install the BRIDGE-WIRE (shunt) on the electrical connector (4) between the pins B and E.
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(4) Safety the electrical connectors (4) and (5) to the adjacent electrical harness with the TIE WRAP(S).
(5) Do a visual check of the see/feel indicator of the vent valve actuator to identify the position of the valve:
- See/feel indicator aligned, the ACT vent valve is OPEN
- See/feel indicator across, the ACT vent valve is CLOSED.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(6) Cut and discard the lockwire from the screw (6). (7) Loosen the screw (6) and remove the V-clamp (1) and the actuator (3) from the shaft (7) of the ACT vent valve.
(8) If necessary, turn the shaft (7) of the ACT vent valve to CLOSED position.
(9) Install the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING (2) on the flange of the ACT vent valve to lock the valve in CLOSED position.
(10) Install the V-clamp (1) on the shaft (7) of the ACT vent valve.
(11) Tighten the screw (6) to safety the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING (2) on the valve.
