Subtask 28-28-00-860-114-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
   (4) On the FUEL section of HYD/FUEL panel 40VU, make sure that all tank pump pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
   (5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position:
  • On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, to tell persons not to operate the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch,
  • On the FUEL section of panel 40VU, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system
  • On the ENG/APU FIRE panel located on overhead panel 20VU, to tell persons not to operate the fire extinguishing system
  • On the Additional Center Tank (ACT) control section of panel 28VU, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system.
   (6) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the main gear doors.
Subtask 28-28-00-865-087-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position at zone 195.
   (2) On the lower fuselage, open access door 195BB.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-28-00-040-056-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
A. ACT Vent Valve is OFF in the closed position
NOTE: The ACT vent valve can stay in CLOSED position during the flight.
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (4) and (5) from the receptacles of the actuator (3).
   (2) On the line end of the electrical connector A, install the BRIDGE-WIRE (shunt) on the electrical connector (4) between the pins B and E.
   (3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (4) Safety the electrical connectors (4) and (5) to the adjacent electrical harness with the TIE WRAP(S).
   (5) Do a visual check of the see/feel indicator of the vent valve actuator to identify the position of the valve:
  • See/feel indicator aligned, the ACT vent valve is OPEN
  • See/feel indicator across, the ACT vent valve is CLOSED.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (6) Cut and discard the lockwire from the screw (6).
   (7) Loosen the screw (6) and remove the V-clamp (1) and the actuator (3) from the shaft (7) of the ACT vent valve.
   (8) If necessary, turn the shaft (7) of the ACT vent valve to CLOSED position.
   (9) Install the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING (2) on the flange of the ACT vent valve to lock the valve in CLOSED position.
   (10) Install the V-clamp (1) on the shaft (7) of the ACT vent valve.
   (11) Tighten the screw (6) to safety the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING (2) on the valve.
   (12) Safety the screw (6) with 14QFC1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES -.
5. Close-up
