B. Installation of Fuel Control-Valve Actuator 11QL (12QL)
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU CORRECTLY ALIGN THE POSITIONS OF THE ROLL PIN ON THE DRIVE SPINDLE AND THE PIN HOLE IN THE ACTUATOR. IF NOT, THE ACTUATOR WILL NOT OPERATE THE VALVE CORRECTLY AND CAN CAUSE FUEL LEAKAGE.
   (1) Make sure that the actuator (4) and the drive spindle are in the correct configuration.
   (2) The roll pin on the drive spindle must be correctly aligned with the pin hole in the actuator driveshaft.
   (3) Put the V-band clamp (3) on the drive sub-assembly (1).
   (4) Carefully install the actuator (4) on the drive sub-assembly (1).
     (a) Make sure that:
  • The actuator driveshaft engages correctly with the drive spindle slot and roll pin
  • The actuator housing engages correctly with the slot in the drive sub-assembly (1).
     (b) Make sure that there is zero clearance (around the circumference) between the flange of the:
  • Actuator (4)
  • Drive sub-assembly (1).
NOTE: There is no clearance when all the pins and the grooves are correctly aligned.
   (5) Make sure that the actuator (4) is in the correct position.
CAUTION: DO NOT TORQUE THE V-CLAMP(S) TO MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED VALUE. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE FLANGE SURFACES.
   (6) TORQUE the screw (6) to between 0.124 and 0.102 m.daN (10.97 and 9.03 lbf.in ) T.
   (7) Make sure that the V-band clamp (3) is fully engaged.
NOTE: The V-band clamp (3) is fully engaged if the part of the flange does not show for the:
  • Actuator (4)
  • Drive sub-assembly (1).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (8) Safety the V-band clamp (3) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (9) Remove the blanking cap from the electrical connector (5).
   (10) Install the electrical connector (5).
