A. Safety Precautions

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.

B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the center tank and the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank and the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

(3) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(4) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating cylinder.
(5) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel:

(6) Remove the ACT-Equipment Support Door or access panel 148AZ (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001):
(a) FOR [153QM] (FUEL CONTROL VALVE-JET PUMP, L WING TK)
remove the ACT-Equipment Support Door
(b) FOR [154QM] (FUEL CONTROL VALVE-JET PUMP, R WING TK)
remove 148AZ.

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-26-43-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Jet Pump Fuel Control Valve 153QM (154QM)
(1) Remove the actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 28-26-51-000-001).
(2) Remove the nut (10) and the bolt (12) to disconnect the bonding lead (11).
(3) Remove the nuts (8).
(4) Remove the drive sub-assembly (7).
(5) Remove the nut (4) and the bolt (2) to disconnect the bonding lead (3).
(6) Remove the nuts (22) and the bolts (24).
(7) Remove the nut (15) and the bolt (20) to disconnect the bonding lead (13) and the bonding lead (14).
(8) Release the nut (18) from the pipe (16).
(9) Remove the valve (21).
(10) Remove and discard the O-rings (5), (19) and (23).
(11) If necessary, remove the retaining ring (17) and remove the nut (18).
(12) Put CAP - BLANKING on the pipes (1) and (16).
(13) Put CAP - BLANKING on the valve (21) pipe connections.

Subtask 28-26-43-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of Jet-Pump Fuel Control-Valve 153QM (154QM)
(1) Remove the actuator (9) from the drive sub-assembly (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-26-51-000-001).
(2) Remove the nut (10) and the bolt (12) to disconnect the bonding lead (11).
(3) Remove the nuts (8).
(4) Remove the drive sub-assembly (7).
(5) Remove the nut (4) and the bolt (2) to disconnect the bonding lead (3).
(6) Remove the nuts (22) and the bolts (24) with a 98D28004088000 FUEL PUMP ELBOW.
(7) Remove the nut (15) and the bolt (20) to disconnect the bonding leads (13) and (14).
(8) Release the nut (18) from the pipe (16).
(9) Remove the valve (21).
(10) Remove and discard the O-rings (5), (19) and (23).
(11) If necessary, remove the retaining ring (17) and the nut (18).
(12) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the pipes (1) and (16) and the valve (21).
