A. Safety Precautions

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.

B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

D. Get Access
(1) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating-cylinder.
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel:
(a) FOR [157QM] (JET PUMP-L, CENTER TANK)
below 147AZ
(b) FOR [158QM] (JET PUMP-R, CENTER TANK)
below 148AZ.
(4) Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001):
(a) FOR [157QM] (JET PUMP-L, CENTER TANK)
remove 147AZ
(b) FOR [158QM] (JET PUMP-R, CENTER TANK)
remove 148AZ.

Subtask 28-26-41-010-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

D. Get Access
(1) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating-cylinder.
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel:
(a) FOR [157QM] (JET PUMP-L, CENTER TANK)
below the ACT-Equipment Support Door
(b) FOR [158QM] (JET PUMP-R, CENTER TANK)
below 148AZ.
(4) Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001):
(a) FOR [157QM] (JET PUMP-L, CENTER TANK)
remove the ACT-Equipment Support Door
(b) FOR [158QM] (JET PUMP-R, CENTER TANK)
remove 148AZ.

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-26-41-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Center Tank Jet Pump 157QM (158QM)
(1) Remove the nut (7) and the bolt (5) to disconnect the bonding lead (6).
(2) Remove the nut (12) and the bolt (11) to disconnect the bonding lead (10).
(3) Release the nut (3) from the jet pump (1) and move it back along the pipe (4).
(4) Release the nut (14) from the pipe (16) and move it back along the jet pump (1).
(5) Remove the bolts (8) and the washers (9).
(6) Remove the jet pump (1).
(7) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the pipe (16).
(8) Remove and discard the O-ring (2) from the pipe (4).
(9) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the pipe (4).
(10) Remove and discard the O-ring (13) from the jet pump (1).
(11) Remove the retaining ring (15) and the nut (14) from the jet pump (1).
(12) Install CAP - BLANKING on each end of the jet pump (1).
