A. Safety Precautions
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

OBEY THE SAFETY PROCEDURES WHEN YOU DO WORK IN A FUEL TANK.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank. (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable wing tank and the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 28-26-00-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Defuel the applicable wing tank and the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

D. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable access panel 540AB(640AB).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels 540AB 640AB (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
(3) Safety open the applicable spring-loaded surge-door 540BZ 640BZ with the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS).
(4) If necessary, remove the applicable Fuel Quantity Indicating (FQI) probe 54QT1(54QT2) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-15-000-005):
(5) Remove the fuel pipes, as necessary, to get access to the applicable discharge check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable access panel 540AB(640AB).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels 540AB 640AB (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
(3) Safety open the applicable spring-loaded surge-door 540BZ 640BZ with the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS).
(4) If necessary, remove the applicable Fuel Quantity Indicating (FQI) probe 54QT1(54QT2) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-15-000-005):
(5) Remove the fuel pipes, as necessary, to get access to the applicable discharge check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-000-001).

A. Inspection of the Transfer-System Discharge-Check-Valve
(1) Manually operate the transfer-system discharge-check-valve. Make sure that the check valve moves fully and freely.
(2) If necessary, replace the transfer-system discharge-check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-26-44-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-26-44-400-001).
5. Close-up(1) Manually operate the transfer-system discharge-check-valve. Make sure that the check valve moves fully and freely.
(2) If necessary, replace the transfer-system discharge-check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-26-44-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-26-44-400-001).
Subtask 28-26-00-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the fuel pipes that you removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-400-001).
(3) If necessary, install the applicable FQI probe 54QT1(54QT2) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-15-400-005):
(4) Remove the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) and carefully close the applicable spring-loaded surge-door 540BZ 640BZ.
(5) Install the applicable access panels 540AB 640AB (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001).
Subtask 28-26-00-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the fuel pipes that you removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-400-001).
(3) If necessary, install the applicable FQI probe 54QT1(54QT2) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-15-400-005):
(4) Remove the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) and carefully close the applicable spring-loaded surge-door 540BZ 640BZ.
(5) Install the applicable access panels 540AB 640AB (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).

D. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
