   (1) On the refuel/defuel control panel 800VU, make sure that:
  • the MODE SELECT switch is set to OFF,
  • the OPEN warning light is off.
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on the refuel/defuel control panel 800VU to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system.
   (3) Make sure that the MLG doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (4) Make sure that the access door 192MB is open.
   (5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the MLG door.
Subtask 28-25-53-865-051-A
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-25-53-210-051-A
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Remove the blanking caps from the mounting flange (1) and from the defuel/transfer valve-actuator (5).
   (4) Make sure that the defuel/transfer valve actuator (5) is in this configuration:
  • the see-feel indicator (4) is in-line with the step (valve open).
NOTE: The drive key (7) and the indicator groove (8) of the drive spindle are 90 deg. inverted to the see-feel indicator (4).
Subtask 28-25-53-420-053-A
B. Installation of the Defuel/Transfer Valve-Actuator (11QU)
   (1) Put a new AIPC 28-25-03-02-130 0-RING (2) or AIPC 28-25-83-02-140 O-RING (2) with a thin layer of Fluorosilicone base Grease-- PTFE Thickened High Temp. - (Material No.03KGB1) on the mounting flange (1).
   (2) Make sure that the defuel/transfer valve actuator (5) and the drive spindle (8) stay in the correct configuration.
   (3) Connect the drive key (7) into the drive spindle (8).
   (4) Turn the defuel/transfer valve actuator (5) clockwise until the dowel in the flange of the actuator engages with the slot on the mounting flange (1).
   (5) Install the V-clamp (3).
CAUTION: DO NOT TORQUE THE V-CLAMP(S) TO MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED VALUE. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLANGE SURFACES.
   (6) TORQUE the screw
  • TORQUE the screw to between 0.143 and 0.117 m.daN (12.65 and 10.35 lbf.in ) T.
   (7) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
   (8) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (9) Connect the electrical connector (6) to the defuel/transfer valve actuator (5).
