A. Safety Precautions

WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.

(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the access platform is below the applicable access panel 522JB (622JB).
(2) Make sure that the applicable access panel 522JB(622JB) is removed.

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-25-51-420-054-A

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Lubricate the new AIPC 28-25-51-01-010 O-RING (5) and the internal surface of the valve canister with Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) or Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) .
(5) Install the O-ring (5) on the refuel valve (3).

B. Installation of the Refuel Valve 7QU, (8QU)
(1) Install the refuel valve (3) in the valve canister.
(2) Install the nuts (2).
(3) Torque the nuts (2) to between 0.80 and 0.70 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )

(4) Use the screw (6) and nut (7) to attach the bonding strap (4) to the valve (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(5) Remove the blanking cap from the electrical connector (1).
(6) Install the electrical connector (1).

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Test
(1) To test the refuel valve:

refuel the applicable tank (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003) or
transfer fuel into the applicable tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).

(2) Make sure there are no leaks from the refuel valve.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable access panel:

(a) FOR [7QU] (VALVE-REFUEL, L WING TK)
install 522JB

(b) FOR [8QU] (VALVE-REFUEL, R WING TK)
install 622JB.

B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
