WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the slat system.
(4) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is on the slat/flap control lever.

OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001). (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the slat system.
(4) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is on the slat/flap control lever.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration

(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) is below the applicable refuel coupling.
(2) Make sure that the access panels (4) are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-006).
4. Procedure
Shroud and Backing Plate - Right Wing ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Shroud and Backing Plate - Left and Right Wings ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) Make sure that the access panels (4) are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-006).
Subtask 28-25-49-420-051-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to clean the used sealant from the hole in the access panel (4).
(2) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the component interface and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 28-25-49-420-050-A (1) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to clean the used sealant from the hole in the access panel (4).

B. Installation of the Shroud and the Backing Plate
(1) Install the shroud (3) on the access panel (4).
(2) Install the backing plate (2) on the shroud (3).
(3) Loosely install the bolts (5).
Subtask 28-25-49-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the shroud (3) on the access panel (4).
(2) Install the backing plate (2) on the shroud (3).
(3) Loosely install the bolts (5).
C. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panel (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-400-006).

C. Close Access

D. Adjustment of the Shroud
(1) Adjust the shroud (3) to get DIM 'a' equal around the coupling cap (1) +0.5 -0.5 mm (+0.0196 -0.0196 in).
(2) Tighten the bolts (5).

E. Application of Special Materials

B. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
