3. Job Set-up
Subtask 28-25-48-941-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slats.
   (4) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is on the flap/slat control lever.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) is below the applicable zone 522(622).
   (2) Make sure that the applicable access panel 522JB(622JB) is removed.
   (3) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is on the flap/slat control lever.

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-25-48-420-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interface and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

B. Installation of the Refuel Light
   (1) Install the green lens (11) in the ready-to-refuel light (8).
   (2) Install the ready-to-refuel light (8) and the clear lens (10) on the panel (2) with the screws (9).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (3) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (4) Connect the electrical connector (4) to the receptacle.
   (5) Install the clamps (5) on the electrical cable (3).
   (6) Install the clamps (5) with the nuts (6) and the bolts (7) and make sure that:
  • The lanyard (1) is in tension.
  • The electrical cable (3) is not in tension.

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable access panel:

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Preparation for Test
   (1) Open the applicable access panel 522KB(622KB).
   (2) Make sure that the REFUEL VALVES switches on the refuel/defuel control panel 800VU are set to NORM.
   (3) Close the applicable access panel 522KB(622KB).
   (4) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

F. Test
   (1) Do a test of the Refuel Light Assembly:
ACTION
RESULT
1.On overhead panel 51VU:
  • Push (in) the PWR pushbutton switch.
On overhead panel 51VU:
  • The ON legend comes on
  • The fuel PRESELECTED value and the ACTUAL value come on.
2.In the cockpit:
  • Set refuel preselector 10QT until the PRESELECTED value is more than the ACTUAL value.

3.On overhead panel 51VU:
  • Push (in) and release the CTL pushbutton switch.
On wing access panels 522JB(622JB):
  • The ready-to-refuel lights come on (green).

On overhead panel 51VU:
  • The ON legend comes on.
4.On overhead panel 51VU:
  • Push (in) and release the CTL pushbutton switch.
On overhead panel 51VU:
  • The ON legend goes off.

On wing access panels 522JB(622JB):
  • The ready-to-refuel lights go off.
5.On overhead panel 51VU:
  • Release (out) the PWR pushbutton switch.
On overhead panel 51VU:
  • The ON legend goes off
  • The PRESELECTED value and the ACTUAL value go off.
5. Close-up

A. De-energize the Electrical Circuits
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the safety barriers.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
