4. Procedure
Subtask 28-25-41-210-054-B
A. Detailed Inspection of Coupling Refuel/Defuel
   (1) Examine the refuel/defuel coupling cap (6) and the chain (7) for their correct condition:
     (a) Make sure that the chain (7) is correctly attached.
     (b) If you find corrosion or damage:
1 Remove the refuel/defuel coupling cap (6) and the chain (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-41-000-001).
2 Send the refuel/defuel coupling cap (6) and the chain (7) to the workshop.
3 Install the refuel/defuel coupling cap (6) and the chain (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-41-400-005).
   (2) Examine the refuel/defuel coupling assembly (1) for corrosion and damage:
     (a) If you find corrosion or damage:
1 Remove the refuel/defuel coupling assembly (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-41-000-001).
2 Send the refuel/defuel coupling assembly (1) to the workshop.
3 Install the refuel/defuel coupling assembly (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-41-400-005).
     (b) If you find scratches or scores, make sure that they do not extend to the sealing face.
NOTE: Scratches or scores to the valve head (8) are permitted.
   (3) Measure the thickness of the lugs (DIM x) on the coupling jaw ring (3).
   (4) Make sure that it is more than 5.842 mm (0.2300 in.).
   (5) If the dimension is not correct, replace the coupling element assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-41-000-005) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-41-400-006).
   (6) Examine the shroud (4), the shroud backing plate (5) and the shroud support ring (2) for their correct condition.
   (7) Examine the front spar around the refuel/defuel coupling (1) for signs of fuel leaks.
   (8) Make sure that the paint and other protective treatments on and around the refuel/defuel coupling (1) are in good condition.
5. Close-up
