A. Transfer Defuel Valve - Closure Procedure
(1) If the actuator (11QU) shows the transfer defuel valve (11QM) in the open position (see/feel indicator in-line), do the steps that follow:
(a) Remove the actuator (11QU) from the drive shaft of the transfer defuel valve (11QM) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-53-000-001).
(b) Manually turn the drive shaft to the valve-closed position (indicator groove vertical).
(d) If necessary, do the steps that follow:
1 Close the circuit breaker 1QU on the panel 121VU, and operate the actuator (11QU) to get the correct position.
2 Open the circuit breaker 1QU.
(e) Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the actuator (11QU).
(f) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(g) Seal the disconnected cable in a BAG - POLYTHENE.
(h) Install the actuator (11QU) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-53-400-001) and do not connect the electrical connector (1) to the actuator.
(2) If the actuator (11QU) shows the transfer defuel valve (11QM) in the closed position (see/feel indicator cross-line), do the steps that follow:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the actuator (11QU).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Seal the disconnected cable in a BAG - POLYTHENE.
(3) If the actuator (11QU) is unserviceable ,do the steps that follow:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the actuator (11QU).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Seal the disconnected cable in the BAG - POLYTHENE.
(d) Remove the actuator (11QU) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-53-000-001).
(e) Put the actuator (11QU) in the BAG - POLYTHENE and keep in a safe location.
(g) Install the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING onto the face plate of the drive shaft to lock the drive shaft so that it will not turn. Make sure that the dowel (3) is correctly installed between the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING and the face plate of the drive shaft. Put the V-band clamp (82QM) around the mounting flange of the drive shaft and the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING and tighten the screw (2).
(5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) (to tell persons that the transfer defuel valve (11QM) is deactivated) on:
5. Close-up(1) If the actuator (11QU) shows the transfer defuel valve (11QM) in the open position (see/feel indicator in-line), do the steps that follow:
(a) Remove the actuator (11QU) from the drive shaft of the transfer defuel valve (11QM) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-53-000-001).
(b) Manually turn the drive shaft to the valve-closed position (indicator groove vertical).
NOTE: You can use a T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING to confirm the position of the valve.
(c) Make sure that the actuator (11QU) shaft is in the correct position (see/feel indicator cross-line) to align with the valve drive shaft.
NOTE: Keep the V-band clamp (82QM) safe. You will need it to clamp the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING to the mounting flange of the valve drive shaft.
(f) Make sure that the transfer defuel valve (11QM) is in the closed position (indicator groove vertical).
NOTE: The dowel (3) will stop the T720456 TOOL - VALVE LOCKING from rotating on the face plate of the drive shaft.
(4) Write an applicable entry in the aircraft technical logbook. (5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) (to tell persons that the transfer defuel valve (11QM) is deactivated) on:
- The MODE SELECT switch on panel 800VU
- Circuit breaker 1QU in the cockpit.
