4. Procedure
Subtask 28-24-51-420-051-A
A. Preparation for Installation
CAUTION: DO NOT TRY TO TURN THE DRIVE OF THE ACTUATOR BECAUSE YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the dimensional check of the dowel (anti-rotation) for the actuator with the part numbers that follow (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-200-002):
  • HTE190001
  • HTE190001-1
  • HTE190001-2.
   (2) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (3) Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
   (4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (5) Carefully align the drive spindle (6) of the drive assembly (turn, if necessary) with the drive key (8) of the actuator (2).
   (6) Make sure that the roll pin is aligned to its related locating hole in the actuator (2).
Subtask 28-24-51-420-050-A
B. Installation of the LP Fuel Valve Actuator
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU CORRECTLY ALIGN THE POSITIONS OF THE ROLL PIN ON THE DRIVE SPINDLE AND THE PIN HOLE IN THE ACTUATOR. IF NOT, THE ACTUATOR WILL NOT OPERATE THE VALVE CORRECTLY AND CAN CAUSE FUEL LEAKAGE.
CAUTION: DO NOT TORQUE THE V-CLAMP(S) TO MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED VALUE. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE FLANGE SURFACES.
   (1) Lubricate the new AIPC 28-24-41-01-010 O-RING (4) with Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) .
   (2) Install the new O-ring (4) on the drive assembly of the LP fuel valve (5).
   (3) Make sure that the actuator (2) and the drive spindle (6) stay in the correct configuration.
   (4) Carefully install the actuator (2) on the drive assembly of the LP fuel valve (5).
     (a) Make sure that the mating surfaces of the actuator (2) and of the drive assembly touch fully with:
  • the drive key of the actuator spindle engaged with the spindle of the drive assembly
  • the roll pin in the drive assembly engaged with the locating hole in the actuator (2)
  • the dowel in the flange of the actuator engaged with the slot of the drive assembly.
     (b) Make sure that there is zero clearance (around all of the circumference) between the flange of the:
  • actuator (2)
  • drive assembly.
NOTE: There will always be no clearance when the pins and the grooves are all correctly aligned.
   (5) Install the V-clamp (3) and TORQUE the screw (7) to between 0.143 and 0.117 m.daN (12.65 and 10.35 lbf.in ) T.
   (6) Make sure that the V-clamp (3) is fully engaged.
NOTE: The V-clamp (3) is fully engaged if no part of the flange shows for the:
  • actuator (2)
  • drive assembly.
   (7) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors (1).
   (8) Connect the electrical connectors (1) to the actuator (2).
