Removal of the LP Fuel Valve
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
Subtask 28-24-41-861-050-A WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank. (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
Subtask 28-24-41-650-052-A (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
C. Fuel Configuration
(1) Make sure that there is not more than approximately 3500 kg (7716.1770 lb) of fuel in the applicable tank. If necessary, move the fuel to the opposite tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001) or defuel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
Subtask 28-24-41-010-052-A (1) Make sure that there is not more than approximately 3500 kg (7716.1770 lb) of fuel in the applicable tank. If necessary, move the fuel to the opposite tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001) or defuel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel 522AT(622AT).
(2) Remove the access panel 522AT(622AT) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-003).

F. General Check
(1) On the fuel control panel, 40VU:

- make sure that the ON and OPEN legends on the crossfeed valve pushbutton switch are off.
G. De-energize the Electrical Circuits
(1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

Subtask 28-24-41-020-052-B
A. Removal of the LP Fuel Valve 12QM(13QM)
(1) Remove LP fuel-valve actuator 9QG(10QG) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-24-51-000-001).
(2) Put a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the LP fuel valve (18).
(3) Loosen and remove the nut (12).
(4) Remove the bolt (15) and disconnect the end of the bonding strips (14) and (13).
(6) Hold the connector (3) and release the nut (19) from the connector.
(7) Slowly move the pipe assembly (1) away from the LP fuel valve (18) until fuel leakage occurs.
(8) Soak the fuel fully from the pipe with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(9) When all the fuel is removed, pull the pipe (1) as far as possible, away from the LP fuel valve (18).
(10) Remove and discard the O-rings (20) and (21).
(11) Put the CAP - BLANKING on the the pipe (1).
(12) Loosen and remove the bolts (5).
(13) Loosen and remove the bolt (17) and the washer (16).
(14) Remove the LP fuel valve (18) and discard the O-ring (7).
(15) Make sure that you soak the fuel fully from the LP fuel valve with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(16) Put the cap blanking on the mounting plate (8).
(17) Remove the wet cloth and put them into an approved container.
(18) If you replace the LP fuel valve, remove the circlip (4) and the nut (19).
(1) Remove LP fuel-valve actuator 9QG(10QG) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-24-51-000-001).
(2) Put a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the LP fuel valve (18).
(3) Loosen and remove the nut (12).
(4) Remove the bolt (15) and disconnect the end of the bonding strips (14) and (13).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(5) Cut and discard the lockwire from the nuts (19) and (2). (6) Hold the connector (3) and release the nut (19) from the connector.
(7) Slowly move the pipe assembly (1) away from the LP fuel valve (18) until fuel leakage occurs.
(8) Soak the fuel fully from the pipe with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(9) When all the fuel is removed, pull the pipe (1) as far as possible, away from the LP fuel valve (18).
(10) Remove and discard the O-rings (20) and (21).
(11) Put the CAP - BLANKING on the the pipe (1).
(12) Loosen and remove the bolts (5).
(13) Loosen and remove the bolt (17) and the washer (16).
(14) Remove the LP fuel valve (18) and discard the O-ring (7).
(15) Make sure that you soak the fuel fully from the LP fuel valve with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(16) Put the cap blanking on the mounting plate (8).
(17) Remove the wet cloth and put them into an approved container.
(18) If you replace the LP fuel valve, remove the circlip (4) and the nut (19).
