A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On panel 20VU, make sure that ENG 1 and ENG 2 FIRE P/BSWs are in the closed and guarded position.
   (2) On panel 115VU, make sure that ENG/MASTER 1 and ENG/MASTER 2 switches are in the OFF position.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on panel 20VU, to tell persons not to operate ENG 1 and ENG 2 FIRE P/BSWs.
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on panel 115VU, to tell persons not to operate ENG/MASTER 1 and ENG/MASTER 2 switches.
   (5) Fully extend the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
   (6) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the slat/flap control lever.
   (7) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the slats.
   (8) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (9) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (10) On ECAM Control Panel (CP) 11VU, push (in) the FUEL P/BSW to get the FUEL page on the ECAM lower DU.
   (11) On the FUEL page, make sure that the crossfeed valve indication shows green cross-line (valve closed).

   (2) Remove the applicable access panel:
     (a) FOR [9QG] (ACTUATOR-LP FUEL VALVE, ENG 1)
Remove 522AT (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-003) or 522XB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004).
     (b) FOR [10QG] (ACTUATOR-LP FUEL VALVE, ENG 2)
Remove 622AT (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-003) or 622XB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004).
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-24-00-710-058-A
A. Operational Check of LP Shut Off Valves including Operation by Individual Motors
   (1) In the test that follows, on each operation of the LP valve:
  • Make sure that the see/feel indicator operates smoothly from the valve open (valve closed) position to the valve closed (valve open) position.
  • Make sure that the see/feel indicator marks are accurately aligned with the valve open position.
  • Make sure that the see/feel indicator marks are at 90 deg (90 deg) to each other with the valve closed position.
   (2) For valve 12QM, do this test:

1.On panel 121VU:

  • Open, safety and tag circuit breaker 3QG.

  • ENG 1 LP valve MOTOR 2 SUPPLY and CONTROL are isolated.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The LEFT LP valve indication shows that the valve is closed (amber cross-line).
2.On LP-valve actuator 9QG:

  • Examine the position of the mechanical see/feel indicator.

  • The indicator shows that the valve is closed.
3.On panel 115VU:

  • Set ENG/MASTER 1 switch to the ON position.
On the ECAM lower DU:

  • The LEFT LP valve indication shows that the valve is open (green in-line).
4.On LP-valve actuator 9QG:

  • Listen to the actuator motor and measure the time that it operates for as the LP valve opens.
  • Examine the position of the mechanical see/feel indicator.

  • The actuator motor must not operate for more than 5 seconds.
  • The indicator shows that the valve is open.
5.On panel 115VU:

  • Set ENG/MASTER 1 switch to the OFF position.
On the ECAM lower DU:

  • The LEFT LP valve indication shows that the valve is closed (amber cross-line).
6.On LP-valve actuator 9QG:

  • Listen to the actuator motor and measure the time that it operates for as the LP valve closes.
  • Examine the position of the mechanical see/feel indicator.

  • The actuator motor must not operate for more than 5 seconds.
  • The indicator shows that the valve is closed.
7.On panel 121VU:

  • Remove the safety clip and the tag and close circuit breaker 3QG.

  • ENG 1 LP valve MOTOR 2 SUPPLY and CONTROL are energized.
8.On panel 49VU:

  • Open, safety and tag circuit breaker 1QG.

  • ENG 1 LP valve MOTOR 1 SUPPLY and CONTROL are isolated.

On the ECAM lower DU:

  • The LEFT LP valve indication shows that the valve is closed (amber cross-line).
9.On LP-valve actuator 9QG:

  • Examine the position of the mechanical see/feel indicator.

  • The indicator shows that the valve is closed.
10.On panel 115VU:

  • Set ENG/MASTER 1 switch to the ON position.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The LEFT LP valve indication shows that the valve is open (green in-line).
11.On LP-valve actuator 9QG:

  • Listen to the actuator motor and measure the time that it operates for as the LP valve opens.
  • Examine the position of the mechanical see/feel indicator.

  • The actuator motor must not operate for more than 5 seconds.
  • The indicator shows that the valve is open.
12.On panel 115VU:

  • Set ENG/MASTER 1 switch to the OFF position.
On the ECAM lower DU:

  • The LEFT LP valve indication shows that the valve is closed (amber cross-line).
13.On LP-valve actuator 9QG:

  • Listen to the actuator motor and measure the time that it operates for as the LP valve closes.
  • Examine the position of the mechanical see/feel indicator.

  • The actuator motor must not operate for more than 5 seconds.
  • The indicator shows that the valve is closed.
14.On panel 49VU:

  • Remove the safety clip and the tag and close circuit breaker 1QG.

  • ENG 1 LP valve MOTOR 1 SUPPLY and CONTROL are energized.
   (3) For valve 13QM, do this test:

  • ENG 2 LP valve MOTOR 2 SUPPLY and CONTROL are isolated.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The RIGHT LP valve indication shows that the valve is closed (amber cross-line).
2.On LP-valve actuator 10QG:
  • Examine the position of the mechanical see/feel indicator.

  • The indicator shows that the valve is closed.
3.On panel 115VU:
  • Set ENG/MASTER 2 switch to the ON position.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The RIGHT LP valve indication shows that the valve is open (green in-line).
4.On LP-valve actuator 10QG:
  • Listen to the actuator motor and measure the time that it operates for as the LP valve opens.
  • Examine the position of the mechanical see/feel indicator.

  • The actuator motor must not operate for more than 5 seconds.
  • The indicator shows that the valve is open.
5.On panel 115VU:
  • Set ENG/MASTER 2 switch to the OFF position.
On the ECAM lower DU:

  • The RIGHT LP valve indication shows that the valve is closed (amber cross-line).
6.On LP-valve actuator 10QG:
  • Listen to the actuator motor and measure the time that it operates for as the LP valve closes.
  • Examine the position of the mechanical see/feel indicator.

  • The actuator motor must not operate for more than 5 seconds.
  • The indicator shows that the valve is closed.
7.On panel 121VU:
  • Remove the safety clip and the tag and close circuit breaker 4QG.

  • ENG 2 LP valve MOTOR 2 SUPPLY and CONTROL are energized.
8.On panel 49VU:
  • Open, safety and tag circuit breaker 2QG.

  • ENG 2 LP valve MOTOR 1 SUPPLY and CONTROL are isolated.

On the ECAM lower DU:

  • The RIGHT LP valve indication shows that the valve is closed (amber cross-line).
9.On LP-valve actuator 10QG:

  • The indicator shows that the valve is closed.
10.On panel 115VU:

  • Listen to the actuator motor and measure the time that it operates for as the LP valve closes.
  • Examine the position of the mechanical see/feel indicator.

14.On panel 49VU:
  • Remove the safety clip and the tag and close circuit breaker 2QG.

  • ENG 2 LP valve MOTOR 1 SUPPLY and CONTROL are energized.

   (1) Install the applicable access panel:
     (a) FOR [9QG] (ACTUATOR-LP FUEL VALVE, ENG 1)
Install 522AT (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-400-003) or 522XB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-400-002).
     (b) FOR [10QG] (ACTUATOR-LP FUEL VALVE, ENG 2)
Install 622AT (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-400-003) or 622XB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-400-002).

   (4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

D. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIERS.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
