A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
Subtask 28-24-00-862-058-A
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
Subtask 28-24-00-650-052-A
C. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Make sure that there is not more than approximately 3500 kg (7716 lb) of fuel in the applicable tank. If necessary, move the fuel to the opposite tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001) or defuel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
Subtask 28-24-00-010-058-A
D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel 522AT(622AT).
   (2) Remove the access panel 522AT(622AT) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-003).

G. De-energize the Electrical Circuits
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-24-00-710-056-A
A. Torque Test of the LP Fuel Valve
   (1) Remove the LP valve actuator 9QG(10QG) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-24-51-000-001).
   (2) Put a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the LP fuel valve.
   (3) Use a WRENCH 0 TO 2 DAN (0 TO 150 LBF.IN) - TORQUE to measure the torque necessary to operate the LP fuel valve from the:
  • CLOSED position to the OPEN position
    or
  • OPEN position to the CLOSED position.
The torque value must not be more than 0.226 m.daN (20.00 lbf.in).
   (4) If the necessary torque is more than 0.226 m.daN (20.00 lbf.in) replace the LP fuel valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-24-41-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-24-41-400-001) at a convenient maintenance opportunity.
   (5) Do an operational test of the LP fuel valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-24-00-710-002).
   (6) If the test result is unsatisfactory, replace the LP fuel valve actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 28-24-51-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-24-51-400-001).
   (7) If the necessary torque is less than 0.226 m.daN (20.00 lbf.in) or the LP fuel valve is not to be replaced:
