A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the panel 40VU, make sure that:
  • the FUEL/X FEED P/BSW 4QE is not pushed in (the ON and OPEN legends of the P/BSW are off).
   (2) Make sure that the crossfeed valve actuator 5QE (Ref. AMM TASK 28-23-51-000-001) is removed.

C. Get access to the avionics compartment.
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position below the main door of the right main gear.
   (2) Make sure that the main door of the right main gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001) is open.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-23-41-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fuel Crossfeed Valve (10QM) - Drive Assembly
   (1) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the gasket (8).
   (2) Install the gasket (8) on the drive assembly (7).
   (3) Put the drive assembly (7) in position and install the nuts (1).
   (4) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 0.13 and 0.11 m.daN (11.50 and 9.73 lbf.in ) T.
   (5) Install the bonding lead (2), washer (3), bolt (4), washer (5) and nut (6).
   (6) TORQUE the nut (6) to between 3.22 and 2.69 m.daN (23.75 and 19.84 lbf.ft )
T.
   (7) Do an electrical bonding of the bonding lead (2) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (8) Install the crossfeed valve actuator (5QE) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-23-51-400-001).
Subtask 28-23-41-420-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fuel Crossfeed Valve (10QM) - Drive Assembly
   (1) Install the drive assembly (3), the bonding lead (2) and the nuts (1).
   (2) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 0.13 and 0.11 m.daN (11.50 and 9.73 lbf.in ) T.
   (3) Do an electrical bonding of the bonding lead (2) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (4) Install the crossfeed valve actuator (5QE) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-23-51-400-001).

B. Do the operational test of the crossfeed valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-23-00-720-001).

A. Close Access
   (1) Close the main door of the right main gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Remove the warning notice(s).
   (3) Remove the safety barriers(s).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
