A. Safety Precautions
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001) when you do work on the fuel system.
WARNING: YOU MUST PUT ON AND ATTACH A SAFETY HARNESS BEFORE YOU START WORK:
  • ON THE THS OR IN THE REAR FUSELAGE
  • ON TOP OF THE WINGS OR PYLONS.
WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
   (2) Put on and attach a safety harness before you start work in the work area
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position:
  • on the panel 40VU, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system
  • on the panel 25VU, to tell persons not to operate the APU
  • on the panel 800VU, to tell persons not to refuel the aircraft.

C. Get Access
   (1) Get access to the APU fuel line installed in the center tank and installed between FR42 and FR46.
     (a) Defuel the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
     (b) Open the main door of the left main gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
     (c) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position under the main door of the left main gear.
     (d) Remove the manhole cover 147AZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
     (e) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position below the APU fuel line connections, before you disconnect them.
     (f) You must obey the special fuel safety procedures when you work in the fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).

D. Get Access
   (1) Get access to the APU fuel line between FR41 and FR42.
     (a) In the cabin compartment, remove the cabin floor panel 241HL (Ref. AMM TASK 53-32-12-000-002).
   (2) Get access to the APU fuel line between FR46 and FR70.
     (a) Open the AFT cargo compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
     (b) Open the applicable access panels for the APU fuel line:
  • Between the FR46 and FR47
    remove 151BW
  • Between the FR47 and FR49
    remove 151CW
  • Between the FR49 and FR52
    remove 151DW
  • Between the FR52 and FR55
    remove 151EW
  • Between the FR55 and FR58
    remove 151HW
  • Between the FR58 and FR59

   (3) Get access to the APU fuel line aft of FR70.
     (a) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the rear fuselage.
     (b) Open the applicable access panels for the APU fuel line:
     (c) Set the light switch to on.
     (d) Be careful not to step on a closed access door.
   (4) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position below the APU fuel line connections, before you disconnect them.

D. Get Access
   (1) Get access to the APU fuel line between FR41 and FR42.
     (a) In the cabin compartment, remove the cabin floor panel 241HL (Ref. AMM TASK 53-32-12-000-002).
   (2) Get access to the APU fuel line between FR46 and FR70.
     (a) Open the AFT cargo compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
     (b) Open the applicable access panels for the APU fuel line:
  • Between the FR46 and FR47
    remove 151BW
  • Between the FR47 and FR47.4
    remove 151RW
  • Between the FR47.4 and FR49

     (a) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the rear fuselage.
     (b) Open the applicable access panels for the APU fuel line:
     (c) Set the light switch to on.
     (d) Be careful not to step on a closed access door.
   (4) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position below the APU fuel line connections, before you disconnect them.

D. Get Access
   (1) Get access to the APU fuel line between FR41 and FR42.
     (a) In the cabin compartment, remove the cabin floor panel 241HL (Ref. AMM TASK 53-32-12-000-002).
   (2) Get access to the APU fuel line between FR46 and FR70.
     (a) Open the AFT cargo compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
     (b) Open the applicable access panels for the APU fuel line:
   (3) Get access to the APU fuel line aft of FR70.
     (a) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the rear fuselage.
     (b) Open the applicable access panels for the APU fuel line:
     (c) Set the light switch to on.
     (d) Be careful not to step on a closed access door.
   (4) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position below the APU fuel line connections, before you disconnect them.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-22-47-020-072-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the APU fuel line
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL THE FUEL LINE. IF YOU PULL THE FUEL LINE, YOU WILL CAUSE PERMANENT ELONGATION OF THE FUEL LINE.
   (1) Remove the outer hose assembly (1) between FR41 and FR47 as follows:
     (a) Between FR41 and FR42:
       1 At FR42, remove the nut (8), the washers (9) and (11) and the bolt (12) from the reducing sleeve (7).
       2 Move the bonding lead (10) away from the reducing sleeve (7).
       3 Remove the nuts (16), the washers (15) and the bolts (14) from the reducing sleeve (7).
       4 Move the reducing sleeve (7) along the outer hose assembly (1).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       5 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire on the nut (6) on the inner hose assembly (2).
       6 Loosen the nut (6) and disconnect the inner hose assembly (2).
NOTE: When you disconnect the inner hose assembly (2), the fuel will drain from the fuel line. The fuel must be fully drained into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL), before you do the procedure.
       7 Remove the reducing sleeve (7) from the outer hose assembly (1).
       8 Remove and discard the O-ring (13) from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (b) At FR42, use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealants from:
       1 The interface of the outer hose assembly (1) and FR42.
       2 The heads of the bolts (5) on the outer hose assembly (1).
     (c) At FR42, remove the bolts (5) and the washers (4) from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (d) Move the attachment ring (3) away from FR42.
     (e) Between FR46 and FR47, remove the outer hose assembly (1) from the elbow assembly (9) as follows:
       1 Remove the bolts (7) and the washers (6) from the elbow assembly (9).
       2 Move the attachment ring (3) and the bush (4) away from the elbow assembly (9).
       3 Remove the outer hose assembly (1) from the elbow assembly (9).
       4 Remove and discard the O-ring (5) from the outer hose assembly (1).
       5 Move the bush (4) and the attachment ring (3) away from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (f) Between FR42 and FR46:
       1 Remove the screws (21) and (31) and the washers (22) and (32) from the clamps (20) and (30).
       2 Remove the bonding straps (24) from the clamps (20).
       3 Remove the clamps (20) and (30) from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (g) Remove the outer hose assembly (1) between FR41 and FR47.
   (2) Remove the inner hose assembly (2) between FR41 and FR47 as follows:
     (a) Between FR46 and FR47, remove the clamps (8), (12) and (18) as follows:
       1 Remove the nut (19), the washers (20) and (22) and the bolt (23) from the clamp (18).
       2 Move the bonding lead (21) away from the clamp (18).
       3 Remove the nut (24), the washers (25) and (27) and the bolt (28) from the clamp (12).
       4 Move the bonding lead (26) away from the clamp (12).
       5 Remove the nut (29), the washers (30) and (31) and the bolt (32) from the clamp (8).
       6 Remove the bonding lead (26) from the clamp (8).
       7 Remove the clamps (8), (12) and (18) from the elbow assemblies (9) and (17).
     (b) Disconnect the elbow assemblies (9) and (17) between FR46 and FR47 as follows:
       1 Remove the nuts (13), the washers (14) and the bolts (16) from the bracket assembly (15).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       2 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire from the retaining spring (11).
       3 Remove the retaining spring (11) from the elbow assembly (9).
       4 Disconnect the elbow assembly (9) from the elbow assembly (17).
       5 Remove and discard the O-ring (10) from the elbow assembly (9).
     (c) Disconnect the APU fuel line between FR47 and FR48 as follows:
F APU Fuel Line ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
NOTE: The procedure to disconnect the APU fuel line between FR47 and FR48 is given. This procedure is typical for the other sections of the APU fuel line until FR70.
       1 Remove the nuts (5), the washers (7) and (9) and the bolts (10) from the coupling sleeve (17).
       2 Disconnect the bonding leads (8) from the coupling sleeve (17).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       3 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire from the retaining spring (6).
       4 Remove the retaining spring (6).
       5 Disconnect the elbow assembly (1) from the coupling sleeve (17).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       6 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire on the nut (2).
       7 Loosen and disconnect the nut (2) from the union (3).
NOTE: When you disconnect the nut (2) from the union (3), fuel will drain from the fuel line. The fuel must be fully drained into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL), before you do the procedure.
       8 Remove and discard the O-ring (4) from the elbow assembly (1).
       9 Remove the nuts (14), the washers (15), the bolts (13) from the clamps (12) and (16).
       10 Remove the clamps (12) and (16) from the fuel line component (11).
     (d) Between FR46 and FR47:
       1 Remove the elbow assemblies (9) and (17) from the inner hose assembly (2).
       2 Remove the bush (4) and the attachment ring (3) from the inner hose assembly (2).
     (e) Carefully pull out the inner hose assembly (2) until FR42.
     (f) At FR42, remove the attachment ring (3) from the inner hose assembly (2).
     (g) Remove the inner hose assembly (2) between FR41 and FR42.
     (h) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (3) Remove the elbow (6) and the pipe assembly (14) as follows:
     (a) Remove the nut (5) and the bolt (2) from the clamp (4).
     (b) Move the bonding leads (3) and (9) away from the clamp (4).
     (c) Remove the nut (38) and the bolt (37) from the elbow (6).
     (d) Remove the bonding lead (3) from the elbow (6).
     (e) Remove the nut (11) and the bolt (8) from the clamp (10).
     (f) Remove the bonding lead (9) from the clamp (10).
     (g) Remove the nut (13) and the bolt (35) from the clamp (12).
     (h) Move the bonding lead (34) away from the clamp (12).
     (i) Remove the clamp (4) from the elbow (6).
     (j) Remove the clamps (10) and (12) from the pipe assembly (14).
     (k) Remove the nuts (1) from the elbow (6).
     (l) Move the elbow (6) away from the APU LP fuel valve.
     (m) Hold the elbow (6) and loosen the nut (36).
     (n) Remove the elbow (6) from the pipe assembly (14).
     (o) Remove and discard the O-rings (7) and (39) from the elbow (6).
     (p) Loosen the nut (15) between the pipe (32) and the pipe assembly (14).
     (q) Remove the pipe assembly (14) from the pipe (32).
     (r) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (4) Remove the elbow (28) and the pipe (32) from the upper box as follows:
     (a) Remove the bolt (26) and the washer (25) from the elbow (28).
     (b) Move the bonding lead (24) away from the elbow (28).
     (c) Remove the nuts (22), the washers (23) and the bolts (27) from the elbow (28).
     (d) Remove the elbow (28) from the pipe (32).
     (e) Remove and discard the O-rings (29), (30) and (31) from the elbow (28).
     (f) Carefully remove the pipe (32).
     (g) Remove and discard the O-ring (33) from the pipe (32).
     (h) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 28-22-47-020-072-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the APU fuel line
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL THE FUEL LINE. IF YOU PULL THE FUEL LINE, YOU WILL CAUSE PERMANENT ELONGATION OF THE FUEL LINE.
   (1) Remove the outer hose assembly (1) between FR41 and FR47 as follows:
     (a) Between FR41 and FR42:
       1 At FR42, remove the nut (8), the washers (9) and (11) and the bolt (12) from the reducing sleeve (7).
       2 Move the bonding lead (10) away from the reducing sleeve (7).
       3 Remove the nuts (16), the washers (15) and the bolts (14) from the reducing sleeve (7).
       4 Move the reducing sleeve (7) along the outer hose assembly (1).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       5 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire on the nut (6) on the inner hose assembly (2).
       6 Loosen the nut (6) and disconnect the inner hose assembly (2).
NOTE: When you disconnect the inner hose assembly (2), the fuel will drain from the fuel line. The fuel must be fully drained into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL), before you do the procedure.
       7 Remove the reducing sleeve (7) from the outer hose assembly (1).
       8 Remove and discard the O-ring (13) from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (b) At FR42, use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealants from:
       1 The interface of the outer hose assembly (1) and FR42.
       2 The heads of the bolts (5) on the outer hose assembly (1).
     (c) At FR42, remove the bolts (5) and the washers (4) from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (d) Move the attachment ring (3) away from FR42.
     (e) Between FR46 and FR47, remove the outer hose assembly (1) from the elbow assembly (9) as follows:
       1 Remove the bolts (7) and the washers (6) from the elbow assembly (9).
       2 Move the attachment ring (3) and the bush (4) away from the elbow assembly (9).
       3 Remove the outer hose assembly (1) from the elbow assembly (9).
       4 Remove and discard the O-ring (5) from the outer hose assembly (1).
       5 Move the bush (4) and the attachment ring (3) from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (f) Between FR42 and FR46:
       1 Remove the screws (21) and (31) and the washers (22) and (32) from the clamps (20) and (30).
       2 Remove the bonding straps (24) from the clamps (20).
       3 Remove the clamps (20) and (30) from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (g) Remove the outer hose assembly (1) between FR41 and FR47.
   (2) Remove the inner hose assembly (2) between FR41 and FR47 as follows:
     (a) Between FR46 and FR47, remove the clamps (8), (12) and (18) as follows:
       1 Remove the nut (19), the washers (20) and (22) and the bolt (23) from the clamp (18).
       2 Move the bonding lead (21) away from the clamp (18).
       3 Remove the nut (24), the washers (25) and (27) and the bolt (28) from the clamp (12).
       4 Move the bonding lead (26) away from the clamp (12).
       5 Remove the nut (29), the washers (30) and (31) and the bolt (32) from the clamp (8).
       6 Remove the bonding lead (26) from the clamp (8).
       7 Remove the clamps (8), (12) and (18) from the elbow assemblies (9) and (17).
     (b) Disconnect the elbow assemblies (9) and (17) between FR46 and FR47 as follows:
       1 Remove the nuts (13), the washers (14) and the bolts (16) from the bracket assembly (15).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       2 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire from the retaining spring (11).
       3 Remove the retaining spring (11) from the elbow assembly (9).
       4 Disconnect the elbow assembly (9) from the elbow assembly (17).
       5 Remove and discard the O-ring (10) from the elbow assembly (9).
     (c) Disconnect the APU fuel line between FR47 and FR48 as follows:
F APU Fuel Line ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
NOTE: The procedure to disconnect the APU fuel line between FR47 and FR48 is given. This procedure is typical for the other sections of the APU fuel line until FR70.
       1 Remove the nuts (5), the washers (7) and (9) and the bolts (10) from the coupling sleeve (17).
       2 Disconnect the bonding leads (8) from the coupling sleeve (17).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       3 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire from the retaining spring (6).
       4 Remove the retaining spring (6).
       5 Disconnect the elbow assembly (1) from the coupling sleeve (17).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       6 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire on the nut (2).
       7 Loosen and disconnect the nut (2) from the union (3).
NOTE: When you disconnect the nut (2) from the union (3), fuel will drain from the fuel line. The fuel must be fully drained into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL), before you do the procedure.
       8 Remove and discard the O-ring (4) from the elbow assembly (1).
       9 Remove the nuts (14), the washers (15), the bolts (13) from the clamps (12) and (16).
       10 Remove the clamps (12) and (16) from the fuel line component (11).
     (d) Between FR46 and FR47:
       1 Remove the elbow assemblies (9) and (17) from the inner hose assembly (2).
       2 Remove the bush (4) and the attachment ring (3) from the inner hose assembly (2).
     (e) Carefully pull out the inner hose assembly (2) until FR42.
     (f) At FR42, remove the attachment ring (3) from the inner hose assembly (2).
     (g) Remove the inner hose assembly (2) between FR41 and FR42.
     (h) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (3) Remove the elbow (6) and the pipe assembly (14) as follows:
     (a) Remove the nut (5) and the bolt (2) from the clamp (4).
     (b) Move the bonding leads (3) and (9) away from the clamp (4).
     (c) Remove the nut (35) and the bolt (34) from the elbow (6).
     (d) Remove the bonding lead (3) from the elbow (6).
     (e) Remove the nut (11) and the bolt (8) from the clamp (10).
     (f) Remove the bonding lead (9) from the clamp (10).
     (g) Remove the nut (13) and the bolt (32) from the clamp (12).
     (h) Move the bonding lead (31) away from the clamp (12).
     (i) Remove the clamp (4) from the elbow (6).
     (j) Remove the clamps (10) and (12) from the pipe assembly (14).
     (k) Remove the nuts (1) from the elbow (6).
     (l) Move the elbow (6) away from the APU LP fuel valve.
     (m) Hold the elbow (6) and loosen the nut (33).
     (n) Remove the elbow (6) from the pipe assembly (14).
     (o) Remove and discard the O-rings (7) and (36) from the elbow (6).
     (p) Loosen the nut (15) between the pipe (29) and the pipe assembly (14).
     (q) Remove the pipe assembly (14) from the pipe (29).
     (r) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (4) Remove the elbow (25) and the pipe (29) from the upper box as follows:
     (a) Remove the nuts (22), the washers (23) and the bolts (24) from the elbow (25).
     (b) Remove the elbow (25) from the pipe (29).
     (c) Remove and discard the O-rings (26), (27) and (28) from the elbow (25).
     (d) Carefully remove the pipe (29).
     (e) Remove and discard the O-ring (30) from the pipe (29).
     (f) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 28-22-47-020-072-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the APU fuel line
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL THE FUEL LINE. IF YOU PULL THE FUEL LINE, YOU WILL CAUSE PERMANENT ELONGATION OF THE FUEL LINE.
   (1) Remove the outer hose assembly (1) between FR41 and FR47 as follows:
     (a) Between FR41 and FR42:
       1 At FR42, remove the nut (8), the washers (9) and (11) and the bolt (12) from the reducing sleeve (7).
       2 Move the bonding lead (10) away from the reducing sleeve (7).
       3 Remove the nuts (16), the washers (15) and the bolts (14) from the reducing sleeve (7).
       4 Move the reducing sleeve (7) along the outer hose assembly (1).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       5 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire on the nut (6) on the inner hose assembly (2).
       6 Loosen the nut (6) and disconnect the inner hose assembly (2).
NOTE: When you disconnect the inner hose assembly (2), the fuel will drain from the fuel line. The fuel must be fully drained into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL), before you do the procedure.
       7 Remove the reducing sleeve (7) from the outer hose assembly (1).
       8 Remove and discard the O-ring (13) from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (b) At FR42, use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealants from:
       1 The interface of the outer hose assembly (1) and FR42.
       2 The heads of the bolts (5) on the outer hose assembly (1).
     (c) At FR42, remove the bolts (5) and the washers (4) from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (d) Move the attachment ring (3) away from FR42.
     (e) Between FR46 and FR47, remove the outer hose assembly (1) from the elbow assembly (9) as follows:
       1 Remove the bolts (7) and the washers (6) from the elbow assembly (9).
       2 Move the attachment ring (3) and the bush (4) away from the elbow assembly (9).
       3 Remove the outer hose assembly (1) from the elbow assembly (9).
       4 Remove and discard the O-ring (5) from the outer hose assembly (1).
       5 Move the bush (4) and the attachment ring (3) away from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (f) Between FR42 and FR46:
       1 Remove the screws (21) and (31) and the washers (22) and (32) from the clamps (20) and (30).
       2 Remove the bonding straps (24) from the clamps (20).
       3 Remove the clamps (20) and (30) from the outer hose assembly (1).
     (g) Remove the outer hose assembly (1) between FR41 and FR47.
   (2) Remove the inner hose assembly (2) between FR41 and FR47 as follows:
     (a) Between FR46 and FR47, remove the clamps (8) and (12) as follows:
       1 Remove the nut (21), the washers (22) and (24) and the bolt (25) from the clamp (12).
       2 Move the bonding lead (23) away from the clamp (12).
       3 Remove the nut (26), the washers (27) and (28) and the bolt (29) from the clamp (8).
       4 Remove the bonding lead (23) from the clamp (8).
       5 Remove the clamps (8) and (12) from the elbow assemblies (9) and (17).
     (b) Disconnect the elbow assemblies (9) and (17) between FR46 and FR47 as follows:
       1 Remove the nuts (13), the washers (14) and (19) and the bolts (16) and (18) from the bracket assembly (15).
       2 Move the bonding lead (20) away from the elbow assembly (17).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       3 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire from the retaining spring (11).
       4 Remove the retaining spring (11) from the elbow assembly (9).
       5 Disconnect the the elbow assembly (9) from the elbow assembly (17).
       6 Remove and discard the O-ring (10) from the elbow assembly (9).
     (c) Disconnect the APU fuel line between FR47 and FR48 as follows:
F APU Fuel Line ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
NOTE: The procedure to disconnect the APU fuel line between FR47 and FR48 is given. This procedure is typical for the other sections of the APU fuel line until FR70.
       1 Remove the nuts (5), the washers (7) and (9) and the bolts (10) from the coupling sleeve (17).
       2 Disconnect the bonding leads (8) from the coupling sleeve (17).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       3 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire from the retaining spring (6).
       4 Remove the retaining spring (6).
       5 Disconnect the elbow assembly (1) from the coupling sleeve (17).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       6 Cut, remove and discard the lock wire on the nut (2).
       7 Loosen and disconnect the nut (2) from the union (3).
NOTE: When you disconnect the nut (2) from the union (3), fuel will drain from the fuel line. The fuel must be fully drained into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL), before you do the procedure.
       8 Remove and discard the O-ring (4) from the elbow assembly (1).
       9 Remove the nuts (14), the washers (15), the bolts (13) from the clamps (12) and (16).
       10 Remove the clamps (12) and (16) from the fuel line component (11).
     (d) Between FR46 and FR47:
       1 Remove the elbow assemblies (9) and (17) from the inner hose assembly (2).
       2 Remove the bush (4) and the attachment ring (3) from the inner hose assembly (2).
     (e) Carefully pull out the inner hose assembly (2) until FR42.
     (f) At FR42, remove the attachment ring (3) from the inner hose assembly (2).
     (g) Remove the inner hose assembly (2) between FR41 and FR42.
     (h) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (3) Remove the elbow (6) and the pipe assembly (14) as follows:
     (a) Remove the nut (5) and the bolt (2) from the clamp (4).
     (b) Move the bonding leads (3) and (9) away from the clamp (4).
     (c) Remove the nut (35) and the bolt (34) from the elbow (6).
     (d) Remove the bonding lead (3) from the elbow (6).
     (e) Remove the nut (11) and the bolt (8) from the clamp (10).
     (f) Remove the bonding lead (9) from the clamp (10).
     (g) Remove the nut (13) and the bolt (35) from the clamp (12).
     (h) Move the bonding lead (31) away from the clamp (12).
     (i) Remove the clamp (4) from the elbow (6).
     (j) Remove the clamps (10) and (12) from the pipe assembly (14).
     (k) Remove the nuts (1) from the elbow (6).
     (l) Move the elbow (6) away from the APU LP fuel valve.
     (m) Hold the elbow (6) and loosen the nut (33).
     (n) Remove the elbow (6) from the pipe assembly (14).
     (o) Remove and discard the O-rings (7) and (36) from the elbow (6).
     (p) Loosen the nut (15) between the pipe (29) and the pipe assembly (14).
     (q) Remove the pipe assembly (14) from the pipe (29).
     (r) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (4) Remove the elbow (28) and the pipe (32) from the upper box as follows:
     (a) Remove the nuts (22), the washers (23) and the bolts (24) from the elbow (25).
     (b) Remove the elbow (25) from the pipe (29).
     (c) Remove and discard the O-rings (26), (27) and (28) from the elbow (25).
     (d) Carefully remove the pipe (29).
     (e) Remove and discard the O-ring (30) from the pipe (29).
     (f) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.

B. Removal of the APU Drain Line

   (1) Loosen the nut (8) of the drain pipe (1) from the union (7).
   (2) Remove the union (7).
   (3) Remove and discard the O-ring (6) from the union (7).
   (4) Loosen the nut (9) of the drain pipe (1) from the union (10).
   (5) Remove the drain pipe (1).
   (6) Loosen the nut (13) of the drain pipe (2) from the union (10).
   (7) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from the union (10).
   (8) Loosen the nut (12) and remove the nut (12), the union (10) and the washer (11).
   (9) To remove the clamp (16) from the drain pipe (2), remove:
  • The bolt (14)
  • The washer (15)
  • The nut (17).
   (10) Loosen the nut (25) of the drain pipe (3) from the union (23).
   (11) Remove the drain pipe (2).
   (12) To remove the clamps (16) from the drain pipe (3), remove:
  • The bolts (14)
  • The washers (15)
  • The nuts (17).
   (13) Loosen the nut (25) of the drain pipe (4) from the union (23) of the drain pipe (3).
   (14) Remove the drain pipe (3).
   (15) To remove the clamps (16) from the drain pipe (4), remove:
  • The bolts (14)
  • The washers (15)
  • The applicable spacers (18) and (19)
  • The applicable nut (17).
   (16) Loosen the nut (25) of the drain pipe (4) from the union (23) of the drain pipe (5).
   (17) Remove the drain pipe (4).
   (18) To remove the clamps (16) from the drain pipe (5), remove:
  • The bolts (14)
  • The washers (15).
   (19) Loosen the nut (20) of the drain pipe (5) from the union (21).
   (20) Remove the drain pipe (5).
   (21) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from the union (21).
   (22) Remove the union (21).
   (23) Remove and discard the O-ring (22) from the union (21).
   (24) Install the CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.

B. Removal of the APU Drain Line

   (1) Loosen the nut (10) of the drain pipe (1) from the union (9).
   (2) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from the union (9).
   (3) Remove the union (9) from the elbow (7).
   (4) Remove and discard the O-ring (8) from the union (9).
   (5) Loosen the nut (17) of the drain pipe (1) from the union (18).
   (6) To remove the clamp (14):
     (a) Remove the nut (16), the washers (12) and (15) and the bolt (11) from the clamp (14).
     (b) Move the bonding lead (13) away from the clamp (14) and safety it to the structure with TIE WRAP(S).
     (c) Remove the clamp (14).
   (7) Remove the drain pipe (1).
   (8) Loosen the nut (21) of the drain pipe (2) from the union (18).
   (9) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from the union (18).
   (10) Loosen and remove the nut (20).
   (11) Remove the union (18) and the washer (19).
   (12) To remove the clamp (22):
     (a) Remove the nut (23), the washers (24) and (26) and the bolt (27) from the clamp (22).
     (b) Move the bonding lead (25) away from the clamp (22) and safety it to the structure with TIE WRAP(S).
     (c) Remove the clamp (22).
   (13) To remove the bonding lead (40) from the drain pipes (2) and (3):
     (a) Remove the nut (36), the washers (33) and (35) and the bolt (32).
     (b) Remove the nut (37), the washers (38) and (41) and the bolt (42).
     (c) Remove the bonding lead (40).
     (d) Remove the clamp (39) from the drain pipe (2).
     (e) Remove the clamp (34) from the drain pipe (3).
   (14) To remove the clamp (30) from the drain pipe (2), remove:
  • The nut (31)
  • The bolt (28)
  • The washer (29).
     (a) Remove the clamp (30).
   (15) Loosen the nut (45) of the drain pipe (3) from the union (43).
   (16) Remove the drain pipe (2).
   (17) Remove the bonding lead (40) from the drain pipes (3) and (4):
     (a) Remove the nut (36), the washers (33) and (35) and the bolt (32).
     (b) Remove the nut (37), the washers (38) and (41) and the bolt (42).
     (c) Remove the bonding lead (40).
     (d) Remove the clamp (39) from the drain pipe (3).
     (e) Remove the clamp (34) from the drain pipe (4).
   (18) To remove the clamps (30) from the drain pipe (3), remove:
  • The nuts (31)
  • The bolts (28)
  • The washers (29).
     (a) Remove the clamps (30).
   (19) Loosen the nut (46) of the drain pipe (4) from the union (44).
   (20) Remove the drain pipe (3).
   (21) Remove the bonding lead (61) from the drain pipes (4) and (5):
     (a) Remove the nut (57), the washers (54) and (56) and the bolt (53).
     (b) Remove the nut (58), the washers (59) and (62) and the bolt (63).
     (c) Remove the bonding lead (61).
     (d) Remove the clamp (55) from the drain pipe (4).
     (e) Remove the clamp (60) from the drain pipe (5).
   (22) To remove the clamps (50) from the drain pipe (4), remove:
  • The bolts (47) and (48)
  • The washers (49)
  • The spacers (51) and (52).
     (a) Remove the clamps (50).
   (23) Loosen the nut (68) of the drain pipe (4) from the union (66).
   (24) Remove the drain pipe (4).
   (25) Remove the bonding lead (61) from the drain pipes (5) and (6):
     (a) Remove the nut (57), the washers (54) and (56) and the bolt (53).
     (b) Remove the nut (58), the washers (59) and (62) and the bolt (63).
     (c) Remove the bonding lead (61).
     (d) Remove the clamp (55) from the drain pipe (5).

   (26) To remove the clamps (72) from the drain pipe (5), remove:

   (29) Remove the drain pipe (5).
   (30) To remove the clamp (72) from the drain pipe (6), remove:
  • The bolt (70)
  • The washer (71).
     (a) Remove the clamp (72) from the drain pipe (6).
     (b) Loosely install the bolt (70) and the washer (71).
   (31) To remove the clamp (77) from the drain pipe (6), remove:
  • The nut (73)
  • The washers (75) and (78)
  • The bolt (76).
     (a) Remove the clamp (77).
     (b) Move the bonding lead (74) away from the clamp (77) and safety it to the structure with TIE WRAP(S).
   (32) Loosen the nut (65) of the drain pipe (6) from the union (67).
   (33) Keep the union (67) for the installation.
   (34) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from the union (80).
   (35) Loosen the nut (79) of the drain pipe (6) from the union (80).
   (36) Remove the union (80) from the drainmast.
   (37) Remove and discard the O-ring (81) from the union (80).
   (38) Install the CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
