Installation of the Jet Pump
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is on the applicable panel 195BB (196BB) to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.
Subtask 28-21-53-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001). (2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is on the applicable panel 195BB (196BB) to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the center tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(3) Make sure that the applicable MLG door 734(744) is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(4) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating-cylinder.
(5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is below the applicable access panel 147AZ(148AZ).
(6) Make sure that the applicable access panel is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):

Subtask 28-21-53-865-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the center tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9)
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Lubricate the new items that follow with Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) , or Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) :

B. Installation of the Jet Pump 89QM(90QM)
(3) Install the nut (48) on the elbow (50) and install the nut (33) on the tee piece (32).
(4) Install the O-ring (47) on the elbow (50) and the O-ring (34) on the tee piece (32).
(5) Install the union (44), the elbow (50) and the tee piece (32) on the jet pump (42).
(6) Install the O-rings (35) and the O-ring (37) on the jet pump (42).
(7) Attach the jet pump (42) to the rear spar and install the nuts (36).

(9) Connect the coupling nuts (31) and (51) to the tee piece (32).
(10) Connect the coupling nut (49) to the elbow (50) and the coupling nut (45) to the union (44).
(11) Tighten the nuts (48) and (33).
(12) Install the bonding lead (41), the washer (40), the bolt (39) and the nut (46) on the jet pump (42).
Subtask 28-21-53-410-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
YOU MUST USE TWO WRENCHES AND HOLD THE COMPONENT WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE PIPE COUPLINGS AND/OR UNIONS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT.
(1) Remove the blanking caps from the: - jet pump (42)
- coupling nuts (31), (45), (49) and (51)
- union (44)
- elbow (50)
- tee piece (32).
(3) Install the nut (48) on the elbow (50) and install the nut (33) on the tee piece (32).
(4) Install the O-ring (47) on the elbow (50) and the O-ring (34) on the tee piece (32).
(5) Install the union (44), the elbow (50) and the tee piece (32) on the jet pump (42).
(6) Install the O-rings (35) and the O-ring (37) on the jet pump (42).
(7) Attach the jet pump (42) to the rear spar and install the nuts (36).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(8) Safety the end plug (38) with (9) Connect the coupling nuts (31) and (51) to the tee piece (32).
(10) Connect the coupling nut (49) to the elbow (50) and the coupling nut (45) to the union (44).
(11) Tighten the nuts (48) and (33).
(12) Install the bonding lead (41), the washer (40), the bolt (39) and the nut (46) on the jet pump (42).
C. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-400-001):
(a) FOR [89QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L CTR TK)
install 147AZ
(b) FOR [90QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, R CTR TK)
install 148AZ.

E. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
