Installation of the Jet Pump

A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Lubricate the applicable O-rings with Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) :
     (a) FOR [67QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L WING TK), [68QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, R WING TK)
AIPC 28-21-05-38-250 O-RINGS (1) or AIPC 28-21-85-29-080 O-RING (1), AIPC 28-21-05-38-260 O-RING (5) or AIPC 28-21-85-29-090 O-RING (5), AIPC 28-21-05-38-160 O-RING (9) or AIPC 28-21-85-29-130 O-RING (9), AIPC 28-21-05-38-080 O-RING (15) or AIPC 28-21-85-29-140 O-RING (15)
and AIPC 28-21-05-38-210 O-RING (17) or AIPC 28-21-85-29-140 O-RING (17).
     (b) FOR [66QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L VENT SURGE TK or JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L VENT SURGE TK), [69QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, R VENT SURGE TK or JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, R VENT SURGE TK)
AIPC 28-21-05-37-130 O-RINGS (2) or AIPC 28-21-85-28-100 O-RING (2), AIPC 28-21-05-37-140 O-RING (6) or AIPC 28-21-85-28-110 O-RING (6), AIPC 28-21-05-37-270 O-RING (10) or AIPC 28-21-85-28-250 O-RING (10), AIPC 28-21-05-37-090 O-RING (16) or AIPC 28-21-85-28-140 O-RING (16)
and AIPC 28-21-05-37-090 O-RING (18) or AIPC 28-21-85-28-140 O-RING (18).

B. Installation of the Jet Pump 66QM(69QM), 67QM(68QM)

CAUTION: YOU MUST USE TWO WRENCHES AND HOLD THE COMPONENT WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE PIPE COUPLINGS AND/OR UNIONS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT.

   (1) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the jet pump (24) and the unions (11), (14) and (19).
   (2) Install the new:

• O-rings (9) or (10) on the union (11)
  
• O-rings (15) or (16) on the union (14)
  
• O-rings (17) or (18) on the union (19).
  

   (3) Install the unions (11), (14) and (19) on the jet pump (24).
   (4) Install the applicable new O-rings (1) or (2) and (5) or (6) on the jet pump (24).
   (5) Attach the jet pump (24) to the rear spar and install the washers (3) and the nuts (4).
   (6) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) to the nuts (4).
   (7) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the coupling nuts (12), (13) and (20).
   (8) Connect the coupling nuts (12), (13) and (20) to their related unions (11), (14) and (19).
   (9) Connect the bonding strips (21) and (22) with the bolt (8) and the nut (23) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (10) Torque the nut (23) to between 0.4 and 0.3 m.daN (35.40 and 26.55 lbf.in ) .

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

   (11) Safety the end plug (7) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel, 0.8 mm (0.032 in.) dia.

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable access panels 540KB 640KB, (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-002).
   (3) Lower the applicable No. 3 spoiler (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
   (4) On the applicable No. 3 spoiler servo-control, make sure that the pointer on the hex-head is opposite the letter 'O' (Operation) on the housing.
