A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the applicable panel 195BB(196BB) to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Defuel the center fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the center fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

D. Get Access
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR DOORS ARE CLEAR.
   (1) Open the applicable MLG door 734(744) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating-cylinder.
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable access panel 147AZ(148AZ).
   (4) Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):

     (a) FOR [89QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L CTR TK)
remove 147AZ
     (b) FOR [90QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, R CTR TK)
remove 148AZ.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-21-53-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Jet Pump 89QM(90QM)
CAUTION: YOU MUST USE TWO WRENCHES AND HOLD THE COMPONENT WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE PIPE COUPLINGS AND/OR UNIONS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT.
   (1) Remove the nut (46), the bolt (39) and the washer (40) and disconnect the bonding lead (41) from the jet pump (42).
   (2) Disconnect the coupling nuts (31), (45), (49) and (51).
   (3) Loosen the nut (33) and remove the tee piece (32).
   (4) Remove and discard the O-ring (34).
   (5) Loosen the nut (48) and remove the elbow (50).
   (6) Remove and discard the O-ring (47).
   (7) Remove the union (44) and remove and discard the O-ring (43).
   (8) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected coupling nuts (31), (45), (49) and (51), the elbow (50), the tee piece (32) and the union (44).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (9) Remove and discard the lockwire from the end plug (38).
   (10) Remove the nuts (36) and the jet pump (42).
   (11) Remove and discard the O-rings (35) and the O-ring (37).
   (12) Install blanking caps on the jet pump (42).
