WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Extend the flaps fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is on the slat/flap control lever.
   (3) Put the applicable spoiler No. 3 in the maintenance position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
   (4) Make sure that the 98D27604000000 COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER or 98D27604004000 COLLAR SAFETY SPOILER is on the applicable spoiler No. 3 servo-control.
   (5) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (6) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 540(640) and 575(675).
   (2) Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):

     (a) FOR [66QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L VENT SURGE TK or JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L VENT SURGE TK), [67QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L WING TK)
remove 540KB
     (b) FOR [68QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, R WING TK), [69QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, R VENT SURGE TK or JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, R VENT SURGE TK)
remove 640KB.
   (3) Remove the applicable access panel:

     (a) FOR [66QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L VENT SURGE TK or JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L VENT SURGE TK), [67QM] (JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, L WING TK)

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-21-53-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Jet Pump 66QM(69QM), 67QM(68QM)
CAUTION: YOU MUST USE TWO WRENCHES AND HOLD THE COMPONENT WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE PIPE COUPLINGS AND/OR UNIONS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT.
   (1) Remove the nut (23), the bolt (8) and disconnect the bonding strips (21) and (22).
   (2) Disconnect the coupling nuts (12), (13) and (20) and install CAP - BLANKING on the coupling nuts (12), (13) and (20).
   (3) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to carefully remove the sealant from the nuts (4).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (4) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the end plug (7).
   (5) Remove the nuts (4) and the washers (3).
   (6) Remove the jet pump (24) and remove and discard the O-rings (1) or (2) and the O-rings (5) or (6).
   (7) Remove the unions (11), (14) and (19) and remove and discard the O-rings (9) or (10, (15) or (16) and (17) or (18).
   (8) Install CAP - BLANKING on the unions (11), (14) and (19) and the jet pump (24).
