A. Safety Precautions

(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001). (2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the applicable fuel pump canister.
(3) Make sure that the applicable fuel pump is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the applicable fuel pump canister.
(3) Make sure that the applicable fuel pump is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-001).
Subtask 28-21-52-420-061-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the slide valve is clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Lubricate the new parts that follow with Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) or Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) :

B. Installation of the Slide Valve
(1) Install the sealing ring (2) in its groove in the canister (1).
(2) Install the sealing rings (3) in their grooves in the slide valve (4).
(3) Carefully push the slide valve (4) into the canister (1). Make sure that the sealing rings do not move from their installed positions.
(4) Engage the retaining pin of the baulk arm assembly (5) with the slot in the flange of the slide valve (4).
(5) Push the baulk arm assembly (5) into its opening in the canister (1).
(6) Install the screws (6).
(7) TORQUE the screws (6) to between 22 and 18 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.20 m.daN )

5. Close-up(1) Install the sealing ring (2) in its groove in the canister (1).

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable fuel pump (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-400-001).

C. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
