A. Safety Precautions
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.
Subtask 28-21-52-860-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001). (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Defuel the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(3) Defuel the left wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the left wing tank to remove center-tank fuel-pump-canister 84QM (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(4) Defuel the right wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the right wing tank to remove center-tank fuel-pump-canister 85QM (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(5) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(6) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL system-page button.
(8) In the cockpit, on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU), make sure that the X FEED valve indication shows the green cross-line (closed).
(9) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, turn the LOWER DISPLAY switch counterclockwise to the off position:
(a) Make sure that the ECAM lower DU goes off.
(10) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(11) Drain the remaining fuel from the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 28-21-52-865-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Defuel the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(3) Defuel the left wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the left wing tank to remove center-tank fuel-pump-canister 84QM (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(4) Defuel the right wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the right wing tank to remove center-tank fuel-pump-canister 85QM (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(5) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(6) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL system-page button.
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE CROSSFEED VALVE, MAKE SURE THAT THE FUEL PUMP(S) IS(ARE) OFF. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE CROSSFEED VALVE.
(7) In the cockpit, on fuel panel 40VU, release (out) the X FEED pushbutton switch (the ON and OPEN lights go off).(8) In the cockpit, on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU), make sure that the X FEED valve indication shows the green cross-line (closed).
(9) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, turn the LOWER DISPLAY switch counterclockwise to the off position:
(a) Make sure that the ECAM lower DU goes off.
(10) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(11) Drain the remaining fuel from the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
C. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Get Access
(1) Open the applicable MLG door 734(744) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating cylinder.
(3) Remove the applicable fuel pump 37QA(38QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-002).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the applicable access panel 147AZ(148AZ).
(5) Remove the applicable center-tank access-panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
(a) FOR [84QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L CTR TK)
remove 147AZ
(b) FOR [85QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R CTR TK)
remove 148AZ.
4. Procedure(1) Open the applicable MLG door 734(744) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating cylinder.
(3) Remove the applicable fuel pump 37QA(38QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-002).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the applicable access panel 147AZ(148AZ).
(5) Remove the applicable center-tank access-panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
(a) FOR [84QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L CTR TK)
remove 147AZ
(b) FOR [85QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R CTR TK)
remove 148AZ.
Subtask 28-21-52-020-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of Fuel Pump Canister 84QM (85QM)
(1) Disconnect the pipe (1).
(2) Remove the bolt (14) and the washer (15) and release the bonding strap (11).
(3) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the connectors (13) and (17).
(4) Remove the nuts (5) and (10) and the bolts (12).
(5) Remove the bracket (9).
(6) Remove the nuts (22), the washers (21) and the bolts (16).
(7) Remove the bolts (19) and the washers (20).
(8) Release the connectors (13) and (17).
(9) Remove and discard the O-rings (7) and (18).
(10) Remove the applicable canister (4).
(11) Remove and discard the sealing ring (23).
(12) If you are to replace the canister (4), do as follows:
(a) Remove the reducer (2).
(b) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(13) Lubricate the new AIPC 28-21-05-01-125 O-RING (24) with Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) or Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) .
(14) Install the O-ring (24) and the plug (25).
(15) TORQUE the plug (25) to between 4.64 and 3.87 m.daN (34.22 and 28.54 lbf.ft )

(16) If you are to replace the canister (4), remove the nut (6) and the stud (8).
(1) Disconnect the pipe (1).
(2) Remove the bolt (14) and the washer (15) and release the bonding strap (11).
(3) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the connectors (13) and (17).
(4) Remove the nuts (5) and (10) and the bolts (12).
(5) Remove the bracket (9).
(6) Remove the nuts (22), the washers (21) and the bolts (16).
(7) Remove the bolts (19) and the washers (20).
(8) Release the connectors (13) and (17).
(9) Remove and discard the O-rings (7) and (18).
(10) Remove the applicable canister (4).
(11) Remove and discard the sealing ring (23).
(12) If you are to replace the canister (4), do as follows:
(a) Remove the reducer (2).
(b) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(13) Lubricate the new AIPC 28-21-05-01-125 O-RING (24) with Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) or Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) .
(14) Install the O-ring (24) and the plug (25).
(15) TORQUE the plug (25) to between 4.64 and 3.87 m.daN (34.22 and 28.54 lbf.ft )
.(16) If you are to replace the canister (4), remove the nut (6) and the stud (8).
