A. Safety Procedures
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
Subtask 28-21-52-650-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Defuel the fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
   (3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (4) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL system-page button.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE CROSSFEED VALVE, MAKE SURE THAT THE FUEL PUMP(S) IS(ARE) OFF. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE CROSSFEED VALVE.
   (5) In the cockpit, on fuel panel 40VU, release (out) the X FEED pushbutton switch (the ON and OPEN lights go off).
   (6) In the cockpit, on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU), make sure that the X FEED valve indication shows the green cross-line (closed).
   (7) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, turn the LOWER DISPLAY switch counterclockwise to the off position:
     (a) Make sure that the ECAM lower DU goes off.
   (8) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (9) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 28-21-52-650-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Defuel the fuel from the applicable wing tank and the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the applicable wing tank and the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
   (3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (4) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL system-page button.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE CROSSFEED VALVE, MAKE SURE THAT THE FUEL PUMP(S) IS(ARE) OFF. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE CROSSFEED VALVE.

   (9) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 540(640).
   (2) Remove the applicable fuel pump 22QA(25QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-001).
   (3) Remove the applicable wing access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
     (a) FOR [2QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK INR)
remove 540AB
     (b) FOR [3QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TK INR)
remove 640AB.
   (4) Open the applicable RIB 2 surge door:
     (a) FOR [2QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK INR)
open 540BZ
     (b) FOR [3QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TK INR)
open 640BZ.
   (5) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS).
Subtask 28-21-52-010-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 540 (640).
   (2) Remove the applicable wing access panels that follow:
     (a) FOR [2QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK INR)
Remove 540AB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
     (b) FOR [3QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TK INR)
Remove 640AB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
   (3) Remove the applicable RIB2 access panels that follow:
     (a) FOR [2QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK INR)
Remove 540BZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-12-000-002).
     (b) FOR [3QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TK INR)
Remove 640BZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-12-000-002).
   (4) Remove the applicable fuel pump 22QA (25QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-21-52-020-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of Fuel Pump Canister 2QM (3QM)
   (1) Disconnect the pipe (9).
   (2) Remove the nuts (20) and the bolts (21).
   (3) Remove the screws (13).
   (4) Release the connectors (14) and (16).
   (5) Remove and discard the O-rings (17) and (19).
   (6) Remove the canister (15).
   (7) Remove and discard the sealing ring (12).
   (8) If you are to replace the canister (15), do as follows:
     (a) Remove the sequence valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-45-000-001).
     (b) Remove the reducer (10).
     (c) Remove and discard the O-ring (11).
   (9) Lubricate the new AIPC 28-21-05-27-120 O-RING (26) with Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) or Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) .
   (10) Install the O-ring (26) and the plug (25).
   (11) TORQUE the plug (25) to between 4.64 and 3.87 m.daN (34.22 and 28.54 lbf.ft ) T.
Subtask 28-21-52-020-056-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of Fuel Pump Canister 2QM (3QM)
   (1) Disconnect the pipe (9).
   (2) Remove the nuts (38) and the bolts (40).
   (3) Remove the nut (37), the bonding tab (36) (with its bonding strap) and the bolt (41).
   (4) Remove the nuts (31) and the bolts (34).
   (5) Remove the nut (30), the bonding tab (29) (with its bonding strap) and the bolt (35).
   (6) Remove the nuts (21) and the bolts (22).
   (7) Remove the fuel pipes as necessary (
Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-000-001), so that you can remove the connectors (13), (14) and (16).
   (8) Remove the connectors (13), (14) and (16).
   (9) Remove and discard the O-rings (39), (33) and (19).
   (10) Remove the screws (12).
   (11) Remove the canister (15).
   (12) Remove and discard the sealing ring (11).
   (13) If you are to replace the canister (15), do as follows:
     (a) Remove the check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-43-000-002).
     (b) Remove the reducer (18).
     (c) Remove and discard the O-ring (17).
   (14) Lubricate the new AIPC 28-21-05-27-120 O-RING (43) with Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) or Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) .
   (15) Install the O-ring (43) and the plug (42).
   (16) TORQUE the plug (42) to between 4.64 and 3.87 m.daN (34.22 and 28.54 lbf.ft ) T.
