A. Safety Precautions
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
Subtask 28-21-52-650-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001). (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Defuel the fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(4) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL system-page button.
(6) In the cockpit, on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU), make sure that the X FEED valve indication shows the green cross-line (closed).
(7) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, turn the LOWER DISPLAY switch counterclockwise to the off position:
(a) Make sure that the ECAM lower DU goes off.
(8) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(9) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 28-21-52-650-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Defuel the fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(4) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL system-page button.
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE CROSSFEED VALVE, MAKE SURE THAT THE FUEL PUMP(S) IS(ARE) OFF. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE CROSSFEED VALVE.
(5) In the cockpit, on fuel panel 40VU, release (out) the X FEED pushbutton switch (the ON and OPEN lights go off).(6) In the cockpit, on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU), make sure that the X FEED valve indication shows the green cross-line (closed).
(7) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, turn the LOWER DISPLAY switch counterclockwise to the off position:
(a) Make sure that the ECAM lower DU goes off.
(8) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(9) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Defuel the fuel from the applicable wing tank and the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the applicable wing tank and the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(4) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL system-page button.
(6) In the cockpit, on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU), make sure that the X FEED valve indication shows the green cross-line (closed).
(7) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, turn the LOWER DISPLAY switch counterclockwise to the off position:
(a) Make sure that the ECAM lower DU goes off.
(8) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(9) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 28-21-52-865-053-A (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Defuel the fuel from the applicable wing tank and the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer the fuel from the applicable wing tank and the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(4) In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL system-page button.
CAUTION:

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable access panel 540AB(640AB).
(2) Remove the applicable fuel pump 21QA(26QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-001).
(3) Remove the applicable wing access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
(a) FOR [1QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK OUTR)
remove 540AB
(b) FOR [4QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TANK OUTER)
remove 640AB.
(4) Open the applicable RIB 2 surge door:
(a) FOR [1QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK OUTR)
open 540BZ
(b) FOR [4QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TANK OUTER)
open 640BZ.
(5) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) on the applicable RIB 2 surge door 540BZ(640BZ).
Subtask 28-21-52-010-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable access panel 540AB(640AB).
(2) Remove the applicable fuel pump 21QA(26QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-001).
(3) Remove the applicable wing access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
(a) FOR [1QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK OUTR)
remove 540AB
(b) FOR [4QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TANK OUTER)
remove 640AB.
(4) Open the applicable RIB 2 surge door:
(a) FOR [1QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK OUTR)
open 540BZ
(b) FOR [4QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TANK OUTER)
open 640BZ.
(5) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) on the applicable RIB 2 surge door 540BZ(640BZ).
D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable access panel 540AB ( 640AB).
(2) Remove the applicable wing access panels that follow:
(a) FOR [1QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK OUTR)
Remove 540AB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(b) FOR [4QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TANK OUTER)
Remove 640AB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(3) Remove the applicable RIB2 access panels that follow:
(a) FOR [1QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK OUTR)
Remove 540BZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-12-000-002).
(b) FOR [4QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TANK OUTER)
Remove 640BZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-12-000-002).
(4) Remove the applicable fuel pump 21QA (26QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable access panel 540AB ( 640AB).
(2) Remove the applicable wing access panels that follow:
(a) FOR [1QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK OUTR)
Remove 540AB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(b) FOR [4QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TANK OUTER)
Remove 640AB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(3) Remove the applicable RIB2 access panels that follow:
(a) FOR [1QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, L WING TK OUTR)
Remove 540BZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-12-000-002).
(b) FOR [4QM] (CANISTER-FUEL PUMP, R WING TANK OUTER)
Remove 640BZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-12-000-002).
(4) Remove the applicable fuel pump 21QA (26QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-001).
Subtask 28-21-52-020-055-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of Fuel-Pump Canister 1QM (4QM)
(1) Disconnect the pipe (5).
(2) Remove the nuts (20) and the bolts (21).
(3) Remove the nuts (24) and the bolts (23).
(4) Remove the fuel pipes as necessary, so that you can remove the connectors (1) and (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-000-001).
(5) Remove the connectors (1) and (2).
(6) Remove and discard the O-rings (18) and (22).
(7) Remove the screws (6).
(8) Remove the canister (7).
(9) Remove and discard the sealing ring (8).
(10) Replace the canister (7) as follows:
(a) Remove the reducer (4).
(b) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(c) Remove the sequence valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-45-000-001).
Subtask 28-21-52-020-055-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the pipe (5).
(2) Remove the nuts (20) and the bolts (21).
(3) Remove the nuts (24) and the bolts (23).
(4) Remove the fuel pipes as necessary, so that you can remove the connectors (1) and (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-000-001).
(5) Remove the connectors (1) and (2).
(6) Remove and discard the O-rings (18) and (22).
(7) Remove the screws (6).
(8) Remove the canister (7).
(9) Remove and discard the sealing ring (8).
(10) Replace the canister (7) as follows:
(a) Remove the reducer (4).
(b) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(c) Remove the sequence valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-45-000-001).
A. Removal of the Fuel Pump Canister 1QM(4QM)
(1) Disconnect the pipe (5).
(2) Remove the nuts (21) and the bolts (22).
(3) Remove the nuts (25) and the bolts (27).
(4) Remove the nut (24), the bonding tab (23) (with its bonding strap) and the bolt (28).
(5) Remove the nuts (31) and the bolts (34).
(6) Remove the nut (30), the bonding tab (29) (with its bonding strap) and the bolt (35).
(7) Remove the fuel pipes as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-000-001), so that you can remove the connectors (1), (2) and (10).
(8) Remove the connectors (1), (2) and (10). Remove and discard the O-rings (20), (26) and (32).
(9) Remove the screws (6).
(10) Remove the canister (7). Remove and discard the sealing ring (8).
(11) If you are to replace the canister (7):
(a) Remove the reducer (4). Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(b) Remove the check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-43-000-002).
(1) Disconnect the pipe (5).
(2) Remove the nuts (21) and the bolts (22).
(3) Remove the nuts (25) and the bolts (27).
(4) Remove the nut (24), the bonding tab (23) (with its bonding strap) and the bolt (28).
(5) Remove the nuts (31) and the bolts (34).
(6) Remove the nut (30), the bonding tab (29) (with its bonding strap) and the bolt (35).
(7) Remove the fuel pipes as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-000-001), so that you can remove the connectors (1), (2) and (10).
(8) Remove the connectors (1), (2) and (10). Remove and discard the O-rings (20), (26) and (32).
(9) Remove the screws (6).
(10) Remove the canister (7). Remove and discard the sealing ring (8).
(11) If you are to replace the canister (7):
(a) Remove the reducer (4). Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(b) Remove the check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-43-000-002).
