Removal of the Fuel-Pump Suction Valve
WARNING:

WARNING:

A. Safety Precautions
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
Subtask 28-21-42-650-050-A WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank. (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 28-21-42-010-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below zone 540(640).
(2) Remove the applicable wing access panel 540AB(640AB) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
(3) Open the surge door 540BZ(640BZ) to get access to the fuel-pump suction valve.
(4) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) to hold the applicable surge door open.
Subtask 28-21-42-010-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below zone 540(640).
(2) Remove the applicable wing access panel 540AB(640AB) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
(3) Open the surge door 540BZ(640BZ) to get access to the fuel-pump suction valve.
(4) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) to hold the applicable surge door open.
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 540 (640).
(2) Remove the applicable wing access panel 540AB ( 640AB) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
(3) Remove the applicable RIB2 access panel 540BZ ( 640BZ) to get access to the fuel pump suction valve (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-12-000-002).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 540 (640).
(2) Remove the applicable wing access panel 540AB ( 640AB) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
(3) Remove the applicable RIB2 access panel 540BZ ( 640BZ) to get access to the fuel pump suction valve (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-12-000-002).
Subtask 28-21-42-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Fuel-Pump Suction Valve
(1) Disconnect the fuel-pipe connector nut (5) and pull it away from the fuel-pump suction valve (3).
(2) Remove the nuts (8), the bolts (1) and the bolts (2). Remove the bonding strap tag (9), attached to the bonding strap (7), from the bolt (1).
(3) Remove the fuel-pump suction valve (3) from its installed position.
(4) Remove and discard the O-ring (4) from the fuel pipe (6).
(5) Seal the open end of the fuel pipe (6) with a CAP - BLANKING.
Subtask 28-21-42-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the fuel-pipe connector nut (5) and pull it away from the fuel-pump suction valve (3).
(2) Remove the nuts (8), the bolts (1) and the bolts (2). Remove the bonding strap tag (9), attached to the bonding strap (7), from the bolt (1).
(3) Remove the fuel-pump suction valve (3) from its installed position.
(4) Remove and discard the O-ring (4) from the fuel pipe (6).
(5) Seal the open end of the fuel pipe (6) with a CAP - BLANKING.
A. Removal of the Fuel-Pump Suction Valve
(1) Disconnect the fuel-pipe connector nut (5) and pull it away from the fuel-pump suction valve (10).
(2) Remove the suction valve strainer assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-54-000-002).
(3) Remove the bolt (1). Let the tag (12) and the bonding strap (7) stay attached to the fuel pipe (6) .
(4) Remove the two bolts (3).
(5) Remove the baffle (13).
(6) Remove the bolt (2) and the link plate (9).
(7) Remove the bolt (11) and the nut (8).
(8) Remove the fuel-pump suction valve (10) from its installed position.
(9) Remove and discard the O-ring (4) from the fuel pipe (6).
(10) Seal the open end of the fuel pipe (6) with a CAP - BLANKING.
(1) Disconnect the fuel-pipe connector nut (5) and pull it away from the fuel-pump suction valve (10).
(2) Remove the suction valve strainer assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-54-000-002).
(3) Remove the bolt (1). Let the tag (12) and the bonding strap (7) stay attached to the fuel pipe (6) .
(4) Remove the two bolts (3).
(5) Remove the baffle (13).
(6) Remove the bolt (2) and the link plate (9).
(7) Remove the bolt (11) and the nut (8).
(8) Remove the fuel-pump suction valve (10) from its installed position.
(9) Remove and discard the O-ring (4) from the fuel pipe (6).
(10) Seal the open end of the fuel pipe (6) with a CAP - BLANKING.
