A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S)S in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below zone 540(640).
   (2) Remove the applicable wing access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001):
     (a) FOR [86QM] (VALVE-AIR RELEASE, L WING TK)
remove 540CB
     (b) FOR [87QM] (VALVE-AIR RELEASE, R WING TK)
remove 640CB.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-21-41-020-050-A
A. Removal of the Air Release Valve 86QM(87QM)
   (1) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) on the internal surface of the fuel tank below the LP air release valve (1).
   (2) Remove the bolts (3) and the air release valve (1).
   (3) Remove and discard the O-ring (2) and seal the RIB 8 connector with a CAP - BLANKING.
